Police have a suspect in custody in connection with the gruesome discovery of human remains in a refrigerator and a trash bin Wednesday morning. They believe the remains are those of a missing 8-year-old boy.
A 35-year-old man made statements Wednesday implicating himself in the death, police said.

So sad stop blaming the parent blame this sick world!
Always want to blame people this freak is the only one to blame!
I don't know, I mean, I'm on my second – first not gone yet, but soon – relatively.. But I think a parent's *FIRST* responsibility is to protect their child. Not challenge them to fight the boogey man..
@sand22: Always blame the parents! The child is their responsibility. Had they walked home with him this would not have happened. Parenting is work.
I'm so sick of parents saying they check in on their kid in his room while he uses the computer and they are good parents. That is babysitting. Parenting is being with your kids and engaging them.
Ultimately it's the person who committed the crime yes, but and this is a huge but, the child NEVER should've been walking home alone at that age especially in a large city-not that it couldn't happen in a small city but the larger the population the more chance of something like this happening.
The past 20 years New York State Budget including a Miising Childrens Grant for all schools to get funding to education Children in grades k-8 The past two years the Legisative and the Governor did not restore funding to educate children in a class room setting. Can You imangine if this child add the personal life skills to be safe. He could been taught to go into a store look for a store clerk or look for a Mother with a child to get help.

How quick everyone is to judge the parents.. Wow!! As a parent.. we all think we use our best judgement but sometimes things happen beyond our control. So the parents must have felt comfortable to let him walk alone.. ITS THE SICK idiot that stalked the boy and killed him that is the problem and is to be punhished
