Gotta Watch: It's a zoo out there

The news seems like it's just full of animals. When you read the headlines, it can feel like you're in a zoo. So we thought we'd give you a break with some animals you actually may enjoy. You've gotta watch these cuddly, charismatic and lucky creatures.

Saving Mia – Would you spend $30,000 to save your dog? One couple has spared no expense to save its tiny chihuahua with a cleft palate.

      I adopted a cat; yrs. back from a NoKill Shelter and said I would not bring him home unless he had surgery on His Clet palate. My Vet did surgery; they had to pay something-? but not even 500.00
      what's wrong w/some Vet's?
      #30,000. They should have gotten t least 2 other opinions! But it is there money- to do with as they see fit!

    You've pretty much shown your true colors with your over the top reaction to the poster above....you're used to being criticized for you less than humane reactions to the plight of people, no? Spend you're money as you see fit. Don't be surprised when people call you out on it, though.

    f you are my pet. you get 1 life saving emergency medical treatment. and only if it life threatening and only up to a certain amount. and if you are suffering i will take you to vet and keep your remains in a box with your picture and cry over you daily. cant do that with people though.

    $30,000 for surgery on a dog!!!, are you insane. There are humans in this world starving and dieing of lack of medical care they do not have the money for. If you want to throw away $30,000 at least save a human child!!!!

    Hate it when people try to tell others what they should spend their hard earned money on. When someone buys a 30k dollar car, do you tell them, they should have bought one for 15k and donated the other 15k to save a human? When someone buys a 400k house, do you tell them they should have bought a 200k one instead and donated the other 200k to save humans? Unless you are living on very little and donating most of your income to save humans because c'mon, human life is more important that material junk, you really need to stfu and mind your own business.

    @Boba: I agree. It's nobody's business what they spend their money on. If I do well after college and decide to feed my pets fillet mignon then it's my business. I see waste at my job, but at the end of the day it's my boss' money to waste. I care about people and help when I can, but if I own a pet then it will be a member of my extended family and I will treat it accordingly. I'd like all these people blogging here to give all their money to charity or quit crying about something that's harmless to them. If it doesn't effect you directly or indirectly then it's none of your business.

    Having seen the entire video it does not mention that the whale followed the boat. It does say for about an hour it provided a show of breaching, etc but they do not appear to be moving–then the boat followed the whale for about 4 hours. It makes a good story to think the whale followed the boat. But the story is good enough just reporting what actually happened.
