Leopard killed after mauling six in India

Officers shot and killed a leopard after it strayed into a village and attacked six people in West Bengal, India, according to media reports.

The leopard attacked a woman and two men, The Australian reported.

People in the densely populated slum village of Prakash Nagar climbed onto rooftops as forestry officers pursued the big cat and vice versa, Sky News reported. Several attempts to tranquilize it failed.

Things seemed to calm down after the leopard sought refuge in bushes, but it leaped out at three officers, Sky News reported. An officer finally wounded the animal, and it later died at a veterinary clinic.

One forestry officer was reported critically injured.

The beast could have been killed but they tried to catch it alive. To bad it failed and they had to kill it.

REALLY!!! MORE LEOPARD CAGES??? LET ME GUESS YOR A ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST OR A PERSON WHO NEEDED MORE HUGS AS A KID? Chris Rock said it best when Sigfried or Roy or whoever was attacked by the tiger and everyone said the tiger was confused and went CRAZY. He said "The tiger didn't go crazy the tiger went tiger". Leave them alone. There not here for your amusement. I'll never be malled from a wild animal. Because I'm not stupid/ignorant.

"Attacked a woman and two men" does not equal "six people".

Someone needs to check their math.

It's not ok to be rude just because you can't read and use context clues. It attacked a woman and two men. Took refuge in bushes, then also attacked the men trying to catch it. It says "leaped out at three officers" and that one officer was critically injured. 1 village woman + 2 village men + 3 officers = 6. If you had assumed the 3 officers were the 1 woman and 2 men, that's fine, but it doesn't say that so you had no basis to be an ignorant jerk about it.

Last time I checked this article was about a leopard attacking people in India, not about jobs or USA's economy.

Leopard was hungry, they should have feed the Leopard some of the millions of monkey's. Kill two birds with one stone, the Leopard gets a monkey happy meal, and does not attack humans.

Make this species extinct as well. That is all we are good for – consume the resources and not care for tomorrow or anybody/anything else. Hopefully our greed, ignorance and hatred will erase most of humanity – a step in evolution.
