Leopard killed after mauling six in India

Officers shot and killed a leopard after it strayed into a village and attacked six people in West Bengal, India, according to media reports.

The leopard attacked a woman and two men, The Australian reported.

People in the densely populated slum village of Prakash Nagar climbed onto rooftops as forestry officers pursued the big cat and vice versa, Sky News reported. Several attempts to tranquilize it failed.

Things seemed to calm down after the leopard sought refuge in bushes, but it leaped out at three officers, Sky News reported. An officer finally wounded the animal, and it later died at a veterinary clinic.

One forestry officer was reported critically injured.

How is it that 12 of the 9/11 terrorists could live for 2 weeks just 2 miles from NSA head quarters in Maryland.
This after several of them had taken flight simulator lessons on Jumbo jet trainers and several of them where on State department terror watch lists.
There is evidence that employees from DoD, CIA and DOJ accepted bribes from Al Quida.
If DoJ and DoD employees where more concerned with doing their jobs than enriching themselves by stealing from suspects and taking bribes, then there might have been more a chance that 9/11 had never happened.
Since I have been placing these comments my dog was poisoned to death, a stolen car was run into the front of my house, gang members are harrassing me, I get death threats, BB guns are being shot at my car when I drive, my car is being tampered with, money and jewelry has been stolen out of my house and these corrupt DOD employees are using torture as a punishment.

We should let a leopard loose in a room filled with YOUR family. Will you "respect the animal" then by letting it maul each and every one of your relatives? My god you're an idiot...

We should start with your family. I can already think of one example of "human trash" that we should all be free of.

Third World creeps. Listen mister first worlder stop using Hindu Numerals. And telll your kids and neighbours as well. First world idea is a myth. That game is now over. Don't forget what country you are taking about – India. India is your countrys GRAND DADDY!!! Who is your daddy??? who is your mommy???

"India was the mother of our race and Sanskrit the mother of Europe's languages. She was the mother of our philosophy, mother through the Arabs, of much of our mathematics, mother through Buddha, of the ideals embodied in Christianity, mother through village communities of self-government and democracy. Mother India is in many ways the mother of us all."

    – Will Durant (Historian, America)

"India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition. Our most valuable and most artistic materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only!"

    – Mark Twain (Writer, America)

Seems like this job should go to someone other than a "forestry official" They don't seem too well trained if they can't dart and animal less than 10 feet away.

Steve how about we put that animal in you backyard and let it maul you. Let's see how you would react then. I like to believe that you would let the animal make a meal out of you since you don't seem to have any regards for the lives of slum dwellers. You would make a great meal for the animal.

The guys with the guns are just standing there looking unconcerned when the cat is on the back of the other guy. I understand they might not want to shoot for fear of hitting the man, but riffles also have very solid butts. A crack to the head or neck can kill as well as a bullet can.
