Several wounded in shooting at Seattle-area car show

As many as eight people were wounded in a shooting at a low-rider car show outside a Kent, Washington, strip mall late Saturday afternoon, according to a King County fire and rescue dispatcher.

"We have a ton of medical staff on the scene and are transporting people to local hospitals," the dispatcher said.

A witness who works at a business near the shooting site told CNN affiliate KOMO that she heard about 10 shots.

"I saw a lot of people running everywhere, running across the street, then the cops showed up," the witness, Trish Harvey, said.

The site, near Pacific Highway, is a few miles south of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

"...shooting at a low-rider car show outside a Kent, Washington..."

Demographic information for Kent, Washington (City-data dot com):
    White alone – 46,446 (53.6%)
    Hispanic – 13,860 (16.0%)
    Asian alone – 11,655 (13.5%)
    Black alone – 9,129 (10.5%)
    Two or more races – 4,180 (4.8%)

Anyone wanna bet that only 26.5% (Hispanic-16% + African American-10.5%) of the population was involved?

    Didn't think so. Not suprised!

It all started over a paint job. All goes to show how right the dad on 'friday' was. Everyone's too afraid to take an azz whoopin, and they think having a gun makes you a man.

Hello,Benny, Your opinion is noted. Now I ventureto guess u work in unskilled labor, spend agreat deal time in front of the television,on the web,no ambitions, goals, etc. Very opinionated,no real foundations to back up your conclusions. Probably had trouble with the law in the past, and have an issue with authority! How am I doing? Oh yes, and will be very offended by the tru...I mean by my statement!

Crap like this happens daily in the US but when it makes national headlines, you people act as if surprised. Every 17 min. or so an American is shot by a fellow American. (not counting raypes and the 2,100 American children that go missing each day, many of them abducted by Americans) Those dead-bolt's on your front door are there to protect you and your family from, not "terrorists", because you had them installed long before 9/11...but for Americans. You folks are way more afraid of each other than anything else, obviously.

We really need to know "why" some people go to a croud and shoot others. This happens too often everywhere.

It is a shock because decent people don't do it, philip. Therefore, we are shocked when it happens. I notice that you like to throw around statistics a lot.
What that says about you, I don't know. Perhaps it's time to step away from the computers, books, and TV and go enjoy some sunshine with your wife and children, if you have any. You can't fix the world, and you will drive yourself insane by trying, and by constantly bombarding people with statistics shows you have a good heart, but little to no life.
