Warren Jeffs found guilty of sexual assault

A Texas jury Thursday found polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs guilty of two counts of sexual assault.

Jeffs was charged with sexual assault on a child after a 2008 raid on a ranch near Eldorado, Texas, operated by his church.

Jeffs, the leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, represented himself in the trial, which started last week. He also faces one count of bigamy, and is expected to be tried on that charge later.

There will always be organized religions and cults - it is up to each of us individually to learn about "mainstream" religions and "fringe" religious cults. We shouldn't argue with individuals who choose to follow different paths in their attempts to seek our Creator, nor should we ostracize those who choose not to believe in a higher power at all. My personal philosophy is not to argue with anyone about religion, but to try to accept perceptions that may be different from my own. I try to keep my own opinions to myself....

Mr. Hossain- He is not a Mormon priest, he is a self- proclaimed incarnation of Jesus Christ. No one recognizes him as anything but crazy in the Mormon faith. The two religions are historically linked but no more connected than Lutherans and Catholics.
