Rockets kill 1 in Israel; Hamas military wing ends truce

One person was killed and at least 12 were injured Saturday when more than two dozen rockets fired by Gaza militants slammed into Israeli cites.

It's the latest in the ongoing tit-for-tat violence between Israel and militants over the past three days.

The fatality occurred in Beer Sheva, according to Eli Bin, an emergency official in the region. Four people were seriously injured and two suffered moderate wounds when rockets struck a house and car. An unknown number of trauma injuries were being transported to the hospital, Bin said.

Maybe if Arab-Israelis were to allow Jews living in Israel to visit their most-holy ground (the Temple mount) from time-to-time...just as a good-faith gesture. Currently, Jews are only allowed to visit one tiny little section of this enormous muslim temple located in Jerusalem, the wailing wall. Maybe then a democratic-State solution might not appear to be such a bad idea.

Nice thought but there's just one huge problem, the so-called "peaceful" muslims want nothing less than total annilation of Israel, PERIOD!!

Yeah yeah! Like Netanyahu want's anything other than the anihilation of Palestine. He's a war monger himself using any excuse to bomb them into submission and he's not above creating one if he has to that's what sett;lement expansion is all about. If you were occupied, trapped and surrounded in your state the way Palestine is you'd fight back with whatever you had too.

@know what: we're not dealing with a simple issues of state's rights here and whether the state or some sort of federal law should be the final word. This is a much deeper issue of people with totally different beliefs which is why a two state system will never work, one side is always going to try to be getting rid of the other side in a two state system. The only answer is a one state democratic or republic system that respects the religious views of all individuals. Anything less will just cause a continuation of the violence on both sides.

In plainer words, a two state system is a simple minded approach that has nearly a zero chance of success of ever reaching the ultimate goal of peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

Israel needs to go ahead and wipe out Islam, because the Muslims are not interested in peace anyway.

  7. Iranian comedian nuke Jerusalem's muslim temple, the Dome on the Rock? You know, the one Allah built on top of the one Jew god built. But won't the nuclear fallout kill even more palestinians needlessly?

    @ jim

One democratic state under an apartheid far right regime which doesn't even recognize the rights of non-Jewish Israelis is a Utopian thought. Ask the Israeli academics who are treated as criminals if they raise their voices against policies of the regime even conservatives like Alon Ben who writes for Jerusalem Post. Or liberals Israeli writers like Merav Michaeli and Doron Rosenblum. They'll tell you how democratic the regimes in Israel are, especially the current one.
Or ask those non-Jewish Israelis who do not even have the right to own property etc. Non-jewish Israelis do not have equal rights. Palestinians under one Israeli state would continue being treated as sub-human even more so.

Don't worry this solution is on the table and Jewish orgs like JStreet & Jewish Voice for Peace are doing remarkable work in support alongwith morally upstanding peace loving Jews in Israel & suffering Palestinian people.
The only solution is a Two State solution with a full membership for the State of Palestine so that it is inducted into the UN and the two states required to abide by the charter.

    @ Bull Halsey

Israel wipe out Islam? How? n case you live on another planet, there are more than 1.2 billion followers of Islam with 50 plus countries. Judaism, Christianity & Islam are three major Abrahmic religions on this planet. Stemming from the same source – Prophets & the Law as revealed in the Torah, Bible & Quran. the idelogies got twisted & separated over time.
these three religions are to stay till the end of days. So stop worrying about wiping out any of these.

Somebody posted that Palestinians need to clean up Gaza.
With a crippling blockade which prevents any humanitarian aid to reach Gazan, though many a brave Americans have also tried to deliver that and suffered a couple were killed by IDF, does Gaza get cleaned up. Starving for essentials like food & medicines, devoid of basic facilities. 1.2 million refugees in their own country living in camps ?

Israeli airstrikes continue, 14 killed during the last two nights. Where is our media on this?

  13. Israel enjoys immunity from prosecution

There have been around 100 resolutions against Israel my the member-states of the UN, with each resolution being vetoed by Uncle Sam before it reaches the UN's security council. You can read about the Israeli MOSSAD agents who were arrested by the NYPD setting up high-tech video surveillance cameras aimed at the Trade Towers in that days issue of the NY Times. That day was 9/10, the day before 9/11. Those agents? Immune from prosecution. If you think that Israel loves US, think again.
