Acting director of ATF reassigned

Kenneth Melson, the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives who came under criticism for the "Fast and Furious" program involving illegal weapons sales, is being reassigned to the Department of Justice as a senior adviser on forensic issues, the department announced Tuesday.

The announcement said that Todd Jones, a U.S. attorney from Minnesota, will become the acting director of ATF.

    Past time for this to happen, there are some cabinet level positions that need to be vacated as well. If they won't resign then they need to be impeached!

    He gets reassigned while a few of his field supervisor buddies get promoted and moved to DC. I guess he didn't qualify for a promotion since he was already the director.

    So if I give a bunch of semi automatic & automatic weapons to known gang members can I get a job at the Department of Justice? Or do I already have to work for the government, screw up epic-ly & then get a job at the Department of Justice? DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE. You gave this guy a new job at the DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE.     These guys are just like turds in a punch bowl. They keep floating around and land in another taxpayer funded job, where they will do the same crappy job and never face any real repercussions. Downsize government to the best 100 people, if there are that many.

    It goes much higher. That was made clear when the level assignment on Operation Fast and Furious was revealed. The Justice Dept. always protects the top brass and administration when they kill people.

    Melson gets reassigned as senior forensic adviser to the department of justice. How is that for justice. The ATF sent 2000 guns into Mexico. Only 600 were recovered. The only reason fast and furious was even exposed was because a US agent was killed with one of those guns. I'm curious, which high level government official will stand charges for manslaughter. My guess is none. The mid-level participants are taking symbolic falls for the real high-level government official. It would be ironic if Melson had to do the forensics on the thousands of Mexicans that will be killed by the 1400 guns his department supplied to Mexico.
