3.4-magnitude quake hits Virginia

A 3.4-magnitude earthquake rattled Mineral, Virginia, early Thursday, nine days after a 5.8-magnitude temblor in the same area shook up much of the eastern United States.

Thursday's quake, which struck at 5:09 a.m., was centered four miles south-southeast of Mineral at a depth of about three miles, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was practically under my house. Went on for about 10 seconds. Worst of the aftershocks so far.

Look at us the people of the US, we are taxed to live in houses, taxed on all items we buy, taxed for going to work, subordinated and policed, told when to pray and when not to pray, impoverished by our greedy and selfish Government rubbed and deceived of the most basic needs like healthcare, things are going to get so bad where people will long for death

Imaginary friends for grownups, will it ever stop? Most people that say an invisible person talks to them get locked up. We let ours gather in large groups.

Meanwhile, in flyover country news... dozens of homes have been destroyed in Oklahoma by massive wildfires, also, dozens of homes have been destroyed in Texas too.

But thanks for updating us about a minor earthquake on the East Coast, we appreciate you keeping informed on such "important news".

What a pile of ** STUFF ** !! None of this is close to reality. In two years, this President has jacked up the national debt without a slingle effort to control it, until AFTER the tea party representatives were ELECTED. They were elected to reign in uncontrolled spending by an Administration that has not the slightest idea of the damage they are doing to this country. Are you aware that this year, $ 250 billion dollars is spent by the American public via their Federal taxes, merely to finance the existing debt ? Thats 250 BILLION dollars – can you think of anything you might want to do with that kind of money? But no, our President merely wants to more Federal spending for stimulus that doesn't work, but it does buy votes. I say no to that, and to all that propose it.

and what exactly has the Tea Party done? Make a mockery of our political system. Bunch of anti-american racist idiots – that is what the Tea Party will be remembered for.

Robert you should really get an education. Stimulus money levels valleys in an economic down turn it is not a solution. The teabaggers like to shoot thier mouths off without any idea what needs to be done. Obama should create jobs, do you you know how the federal government creates jobs? Do you know how much Ronald Reagan increase the debt? In today's dollars? Do you understand the causes of today's crisis and that the current president had nothing to do with it? Do you undeerstand the time frames for stimulus money to effect future economies? Do you understand that hacking away at the size of governemnt will increase the unemployment rate. This country has wormed it's way into a mess and it has taken alot longer than 3 years and it will take a lot of pain and suffering to get out. It will require shrinking government and raising taxes. In the mean time what will you do with all the unemployed that have no money for food, mortages etcc..? Jobs will not return until people burn through the goods (and useless crap) we buy that supports our factories, business and banks. If you want tocontribute go out and spend every dollar you have every month. If you have solutions you and your tea bagger friends need to explain them. And lastly the article is about an earthquake stoopid.

I agree with you Jake. Robert does not understand the realities of life. Obama needs a miracle to turn economy upside down. I stand corrected not only Obama...any other President who could have been voted after Bush.

Robert, do you know how crazy you sound? 1st off the Tea Party laughed at a situation many American's face because they can't afford the insurance because of what the right has done to make this possible. are you like so many of the tea maniacs let families who will not get hire for jobs that don't exist starve and be homeless? Are you really that much of heartless b******?

3.4 is nothing...California gets them all the time. Why is this front page news? Was anyone killed? Does the east coast think they're going to fall into the ocean? People's biggest death threat is humanity.

How about we throw some hurricanes, 3 foot blizzard storms, and tornadoes out your way. You all think Earthquakes are no big deal, but that's all you deal with. We deal with all of the rest, so to have this on top of it all, we are pretty tough compared to you pansies out West.

Are any of the right wing lunatics watching this unfold? How come nobody is blaming cantor since this is happening in his district for the wrath of "god" raining upon the miserable souls who voted for him?
Only kidding, but after receiving government aid in 2004 for a flood in this same district cantor, the tantrum boy, first said he, once again, was going to hold the country hostage. I guess he realize that didn't go over well with the folks who have been affected so now he says he never said on faux news, of course, but he did. You idiot! We know you want this president to fail regardless of what you have to do to screw every American citizen along the way!
