Turkey downgrading ties with Israel

Turkey is downgrading its military and diplomatic relations with its one-time close ally Israel amid longstanding tensions over the deadly Israeli raid on a flotilla headed to Gaza last year.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced on Friday that his government has suspended its military agreements and lowered its diplomatic relationship with the Jewish state.

Well, it's only logical – PM Recep Tayyib Erdogan is turning Turkey away from the West and looking towards the Muslim countries. Sending the flotilla was itself already a downgrading of its relationship with Israel. It's no different than Syria sending groups of Palestinian-Arabs to breach Israel's borders – they know Israel, as a sovereign nation, has no choice but to repel invaders, so they send kamikazes to make Israel look bad.

Yes, kamikazes – Pal-Arabs have been trained for a generation to give up their lives in the cause of destroying Israel and killing/expelling its Jews.

Now the Turks need to grant the Kurds the independence that they so richly deserve. If they would only do that, that would go a very long way in establishing a Middle East peace that everyone can live with.

No sample of mixing the apples and oranges could be as good as this one. Turks and Kurds have been living together since forever. Please read some history before making false comments here.

I kind of hope they dont let Turkey become a member of the European Union. The EU should consist of traditional Eurpoean nations. Turkey is a muslim cesspool.

Quite right, crimmas turkey. Turkey should never be admitted to the EU at least until it grants the Kurds their independence and frees all political prisoners. Then again, all through history the Turks have proven to be quite barbaric indeed. In fact, in 1095 Pope Urban II was so indignant at their barbarism toward the Christians in the Middle East that he called the First Crusade!

You're right, there is nothing like being a pious Christian and going for 8 more crusades to kill a bunch more people. I guess when you looked up the Crusades on Wiki (I can only assume you did that since you seem to know very little about them) you didn't read down far enough to realize that some of the Crusades targeted other Christians. Barbaric indeed.

Turkey is persecuting the kurds. This move is to draw the worlds attention away from its treatment of the kurds. Its a racist country.

Israelis should now send a flotilla in support of the kurds. Iraq should complain about turkish aggression in its country.

How? There is no sea on that part of Turkey. Look at the bloody world map! I doubt that you even have the capability of putting your finger on the state of Alaska on the map anyway.

I think EVERY nation of the world should vastly UPGRADE their relations with the KURDS and support an independent Kurdistan. Can you say Peshmerga?

Alaska Palin & crimmas turkey somehow slipped through the cracks of natural selection. I thought neanderthals were wiped out thousands of years ago. What's even more amazing is they were able to turn on the computer and type actual sentences without their hairy knuckles getting in the way.

Screw the Jews, it took 600 years to throw them out of Poland and now they think they own the world. Slimey little back stabbers with their naisaly little voices. The only reason they have not been removed from the land they stole is because they have convinced the US to arm them. They sit there and massacred with top of the line technology, countless Palestinians who have nothing but rocks and sticks. They should be put on trial for war crimes. I love hearing Jews in the US talk about Israel; if you love it so much then move back there and get out of our country. Ya I thought so...were still stuck with you. Like a locust plague.
