Missiles looted from Tripoli arms warehouse

A potent stash of Russian-made surface-to-air missiles is missing from a huge Tripoli weapons warehouse amid reports of weapons looting across war-torn Libya.

They are Grinch SA-24 shoulder-launched missiles, the equivalent of U.S.-made Stinger missiles. They are designed to target front-line aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and drones. They can shoot down a plane flying as high as 11,000 feet and can travel 19,000 feet straight out.

Fighters aligned with the National Transitional Council and others swiped armaments from the storage facility, witnesses told Human Rights Watch. The warehouse is located near a base of the Khamis Brigade, a special forces unit in Gadhafi's military, in the southeastern part of the capital.

  1. Recollections of CNN's CIA/Gadhafi story

    1.) Gadhafi was trained at a war college in London. 2.) The CIA and Israeli MOSSAD backed Gadhafi, not Libyan citizens.3.) Some 60,000 Libyan citizens were killed by them 4.) Imagine Libya's 10 yr. anniverssary celebration marking the more-than 3,000 dead. 5.) Who cares if the missiles were Russian made. 6.) When Israel armed the madman Saddam Hussein, they weren't so stupid so as to arm him with Israeli made weapons...they were russian made weapons. Proof? Read 'the Teicher affidavit'.

    (and I tried like heck to post this on the Bush remembers thread...wouldn't post. Looks like I'm good to go now) 'Bout a yr. ago, after posting my "stories" here for a few weeks and recieving nothing but flak...I posted that i couldn't deal with it anymore. I'm one of those kids that a 'holy man' got ahold of, and have suffered from severe manic depression all my life, even suicidal. (crying now) And this gal posted 'don't go. i like reading your stories'...and a year later, when I took Ahkmed the Terror Guy and said g/b, she posted ' no,no,no,no,no...' and that took me, it grabbed me hard. She's like a magnet. (though trolls began seemingly reversing polarity) That gal is known here as 22.) banasy. She's been here the whole time, like an anchor. Anyway...I feel that my oftentimes abrasive personality was getting in the way of some very important issues, and is why I ditched 'Philip'. I'm sorry for all the times I've upset you folks. I truly am, and will try to be more generic. k?
