Gotta Watch: Too old too soon?

Parenting isn't an exact science, which is probably why there's so much variation in technique from family to family. But sometimes, parents employ practices that raise eyebrows. Whether it's dressing a daughter up like a cinematic prostitute for a beauty pageant or giving your toddler fake breasts, you've gotta watch these controversial parenting choices.

Pageant enhancement – A toddler pays homage to Dolly Parton in a beauty pageant - complete with a set of fake breasts and padded butt.

Botox baby mom – Which is more startling: a mother who claims to give her young daughter Botox so she can compete in beauty pageants, or a mother who later says her Botox tale was a hoax? You decide.

Do a little dance – These dancers caused controversy when their performance video went viral. Critics said the moves were too sexually suggestive for such young girls. But, the dancers’ parents totally supported the routine.

Too hot for tots? – Even this mom admits dressing her toddler like a prostitute for a beauty pageant may not have been the best idea, but she did think it was funny. With the inspiration coming from her favorite movie, watch this mother explain why she decided to dress her daughter like a character from "Pretty Woman."

I was horrified when I took my 7 year old school shopping this year. There is clothing made for children that most adult women would not wear. Knee high boots with big heels, bikini style panties in very small sizes, really low cut pants, plunging necklines. I don't think so.

It's tough to be the parent saying no – I absolutely understand – hopefully when more of us tell retailers that we're not going to buy it they'll start to pull it off the racks. Unfortunately, there are lots of parents who don't see the correlation between objectifying their daughters and low self esteem and susceptibility to violence.

Back in 1981, Ronald Reagan bragged that we were not living in a sick society but this post sure proved him wrong!!! Moreover, I'm very aggravated at the people posting in here to make a sick joke out of the exploitation of kids here in this country. These people are totally amoral and have no business posting their Tea Party nonsense here. By doing so, they're only confirming what I just said!

A message to the moms who do this to their babies :

    Let your children be chidren.
Just because you couldn't cut the mustard when you were young, quit trying to live vicarariously through your daughters. You weren't able to shine back then and even if your child is successfull, it's still not going to make you shine. In other words, you need to start being the adult and let your child enjoy childhood.

T L C – The Lewd Channel. These are seriously disturbed individuals pretending to be parents. The sad part is the show will go on...because they don't get it...they really don't see anything wrong...and the parents and TLC are blinded by their own agendas. Which apparently is the pursuit of pieces of paper to add zeroes to their bank accounts with a total disregard for the children and their welfare.

Why is this even being posed as a question? Surely it is rhetorical. I'm pretty open minded, but this kind of stuff is just sick and creepy

What parent in their right mind would ever think it was 'cute', 'hilarious' or even right, to dress a child where they looked like a w h o r e? The only people who come to mind that would approve of this would fall into the category of pedophiles.

Barbara, that's the issue! They aren't in their right minds. They are very sick minded and their number one focus is MONEY!!! They don't give a damn that this is destroying the little girls that are putting on these clothes and make up. These are your future pole climbers and street walkers in training. So sad, but true. The only thing that will save these poor little tots are, they receive some spiritual intervention, before it's too late!!!

Why aren't these parents in court for child abuse I don't know? This is worst than the videotaping punishment with hot sauce in the mouth for lying that got the mom one year in jail.
