Gotta Watch: Too old too soon?

Parenting isn't an exact science, which is probably why there's so much variation in technique from family to family. But sometimes, parents employ practices that raise eyebrows. Whether it's dressing a daughter up like a cinematic prostitute for a beauty pageant or giving your toddler fake breasts, you've gotta watch these controversial parenting choices.

Pageant enhancement – A toddler pays homage to Dolly Parton in a beauty pageant - complete with a set of fake breasts and padded butt.

Botox baby mom – Which is more startling: a mother who claims to give her young daughter Botox so she can compete in beauty pageants, or a mother who later says her Botox tale was a hoax? You decide.

Do a little dance – These dancers caused controversy when their performance video went viral. Critics said the moves were too sexually suggestive for such young girls. But, the dancers’ parents totally supported the routine.

Too hot for tots? – Even this mom admits dressing her toddler like a prostitute for a beauty pageant may not have been the best idea, but she did think it was funny. With the inspiration coming from her favorite movie, watch this mother explain why she decided to dress her daughter like a character from "Pretty Woman."

Do these parents not realize that they are feeding a pedophile's dream?

I totally agree with you. There are too many stupid people out there having kids. When they wind up in trouble at an early age the parent or parents are gonna say "how did this happen? I told her not to. She knew better." She learned from the best that's why.

Dressing skimpy for swimming is for swimming, and dressing skimpy for bedtime is for sleeping. In fact, whether it's skimpy dress for ice-skating, or whatever, it's certainly not about child buttocks and breasts bouncing for stimulated applause. But aiming the child at waving their buttocks and magnifying private parts to "make sales" is a whole other thing entirely and these children don't need this sort of focused pole dancing. These kids don't need to be drawn into skin promo at this age! Let them swim and sleep, etc. innocently without pimping their private parts for cheap gazes and thrills. The only people who don't agree are the one's getting off on it. The rest are disgusted. If you don't agree your a freaked out pervert who needs to be kept away from these innocent lives. Meagan's list for you all, every one of you.

The amount of lawlessness in this society is just jaw dropping! I'm not a religious man....but i can't help to think of something i read in a magazine the other day which stated an "increase in lawlessness" during the last days.

    This is just unbelievable!

White trash, white people do things like this cause the gots all da money. Whoring their daughters for cash makes no never mind to a white person. Of course they are from the south.

When the parents do this it's ALL FOR THEM. None of this benefits the kids, and if the kids say they like it then it's just because they want to make psycho-mommy happy.

You are certainly right about that. Let the kids be KIDS and not poster children for PEDOPHILES. Mommy wants to " earn " a living while pimping out her daughters.

They have those too. My sister in law entered every single one of her 5 offspring in them, boys and girls both.

This current generation of parents is shocking. I wish there was a way to sterilize some of them.

So, you would sterilize your Sister in law? You live in the middle east? That is exactly the same kind of fanatical vigilantly religious based justice I experienced there.

I certainly agree with you on that 1.The sad part, the parents and alot of defenders see this as perfectly fine for the kids to be pimped out

  10. I disagagree with most of you.

Strange, my first reaction was to be repulsed by the Dolly Parton gettup, and even the Pretty Woman one. Then I watched them, and reflected on what the little girls were actuallydoing. They were having fun, without seriously being provacative. As a whole, I have a problem with beauty pageants in general. But, I dressed up like Dolly when I was a girl. I turned out fine. I would rather a kid put on a exageratted costume like that, then really try to be pretty to impress boys. It's simply called dress up.

Leave the Dolly Parton "enhancements" for Halloween! Beauty pageants should be about the child (and not a trophy for parent). That Dolly simply went too far even shaking her hips (Pretty woman just walked around). In Europe they have all nude pageants for children of all ages. I was shocked at first until I recalled in Genesis (1:26 and 2:25) that God made man and woman without cloths and they where both naked and were not ashamed. That says to me God says we are best when we cover up ourselves the least. The Bible refers to unleavened bread many times becuase it is not inflated with selfishness. The Bible simply says activities should be simple, humble, and even naked is perfectly fine.

I just keep hoping these pageants and shows are really undercover FBI sting operations to catch child predators. Otherwise, they are inexcusable.

My 5 yr old daughter's website is making $1000 a week after she won the Little Miss Amber Alert beauty pageant in Arkansas! She'll be paying her own way to Harvard. If I can find her, that is.
