Quakes hit off Cuba, Japan and New Zealand

[Updated at 10:39 a.m. ET] The U.S. Geological Survey has revised downward the magnitude of Thursday morning's earthquake off Cuba to magnitude 5.1 from magnitude 6.0.

[Updated at 5:20 a.m. ET] A magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit off the southeastern coast of Cuba early Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The quake was centered 77 miles north of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and 370 miles southeast of Havana, Cuba. It hit at 4:43 a.m.

Forty-three minutes earlier, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake rumbled off the east coast of Japan, the USGS reported.  No tsunami warning was issued.

Both quakes were shallow, striking at a depth of six miles.

And seven minutes before the Japan quake, a magnitude 6.0 quake was recorded off the coast of New Zealand, according to the USGS.

You can actually correlate Gamma-ray Burst Real-time Sky Map with dates of earthquakes. I'm actually surprised nobody has considered it before. Who knows..

Honestly? Do you really think that, if he exists, that the situation today is worse than it was 65, 200, 500 years ago. Yes, the atrocities committed by humans today are evil/bad, but are they really on a Holocaust, Slave Trade, or a Crusades level? Pull your head out of your @$$ and read a history book.

I wonder if there's any relation to other climate change. Used to have how many million tons of ice up at the caps, which has no melted? That has to shift strain on the Earth's crust.

I thought it was Jesus who was coming – it is unacceptable to change plans like this on such short notice.

      @ Breakfast Discloser & melissa...

I'm so confused. So one of you said God is comming and the other said Jesus is comming... Aren't they supposed to be chaste? Are they both comming together? Isn't that a sin too?

And short notice? You would think that since they are all powerful they wouldn't have problems with pre-mature e jack ulation...

      Just saying.

I am going to have pancakes – maybe with a little maple syrup. Occasionally I like to put huckleberries in the pancakes – if the huckleberries are too tart I add a dusting of powdered sugar.

    Thank you!!

You are clearly not ready for the end of the world if you haven't eaten pancakes with NUTELLA.

I think its just the earth getting older and everything changes with age. And as for your pancakes, you should try Dingleberries! They're much tastier! Lol!

Dingle-berries are for when Uranus is below a harvest moon. Though your cleverness is blinding – does your mom know you are using her computer?
