  1. Dem them anyway

Here's what a lack of education can do to a whole country. This is what Republicans want to see the USA become.

yes cause death of children is due to lack of education for any country, so our nation will end up with dead children because of the Republicans? is that what you are saying? You believe we might end up with more dead children than any other country because of Republicans? Come on, take a story from another country and make your own beliefs, ideas, theories out of it....good job. You are a breathe of inspiration to all.

It's the extreme poverty and famine that's causing these deaths-not an opposing politics....I agree with Shannon.

The cause of child mortality in Somalia
Has nothing to do with lack of eduction but poverty and instability in Somalia.

I think that lack of protiens in their diets render them to a life without any higher level of concience, they are but a single step above other animals, they look nearly catatonic, but still have a strong limbido, too bad. thats a real bad combo. here is an idea, leave for a place with food and potable water!

  7. Recollections: About slavery...then, and now,

1,) Men and women who were sold into slavery by their own leaders were all skinny. Slaves were 'cargo'. (use your brain) Slave sellers knew that the rich American purchasers could get them in shape, and in short order.
2.) Images of a 'Jim brown' or a 'fat and mouthy Aunt Jemimah' being off-loaded from cargo ships where purchasing agents inspected them, offering prices based on what kind of shape the 'buck' was in, are misleading. "Jim Browns" were men who had already been here a while, and were later sold by one slave owner to another. Non of them were fat...who would prefer an obese slave?
3.) Slaves from Africa became strong because they were being fed better than ever before, and were forced to work hard, Today's American slave can be fat...slaving from behind a desk. And fatter still, slaving in front of an presonal computer from home.
4.)There is in fact an obesity epidemic in the USA. Americans used to be free, but are now mostly slaves...not to the traditional slave master, but to the one inside of their own minds...minds altered by drugs. (both pharmaceuticals that alter ones state of mind, and mind altering street drugs. We also have a "war on drugs", showing how pervasive this is)
5.) Americans spend more on mind-altering drugs than they do on National Defense. Americans are fatter than ever. There IS a connection.
6.) Of course there are traditional slave masters to be found. They like their slaves fat, happy, and stupid. So they import much food, provide many mind-dulling meds through social progrms, and import the most tv's ever.
7.) The USA makes-up about 4% of the worlds population, yet consume about 25% of the worlds produce...foods, oil, diamonds, etc. Americans view little African countries as poor, and even pity them...offering them "aid". Yet, these little countries are rich in natural resources like oil and diamonds...yet the people there starve. Notice that the people burning Africa's oil and wearing her diamonds have a nationwide obesity epidemic on their hands,
    8.) Are you a slave?

Keep having babies, since the country has an over abundance of resources, except brains

Geezo. Somalia is filthy rich with oil. How come they ain't driving gas guzzlers? Why can't they just sell some of that oil and buy some food?

@jaime...why can't Somalians sell some of their oil and buy food? Because 4 major foreign(foreing to Somalia) oil corporations have bribed Somalia's leaders, and all that oil goes to America, mostly. The somalian civil-war was fought over this very thing. But the big 4 had connections at the UN, and bringing an end to that war was given top-priority...lots of A merican gas guzzlers were counting on it. Notice that the Somalian citizens starve while Somali leaders are filthy rich with bribe money. Note also that the ones driving the gas guzzlers are 'struggling' with an nationwide obesity epidemic. Proof that what I am saying is true.// Grab your tackle box jaime...time to go fishing.

@jaime...why don't these so-called 'bloggers' understand? Too much TV. They just watch too darn much TV. (k there is a few. We'll be fishing up Elk Creek, hiking over the ridge and fishing back down Soap creek all the way to Blue Mesa Reservoir. So bring her hiking boots. he he) Oh...,nd make sure you bring your tiny little kastmaster lure. Them natural brookies cannot naturally resist. (brook trout are native to Colorado, but thanks to Uncle Sam's fish hatcheries, rarely can you find a true native trout, the best tateing kind. Ya gotta hike wayyyy up there to get beyond the ones infected with whirling disease. Thanx Uncle Sam...I see you doing the same things with citizens these days.)
