The lawyer trying to get two American hikers freed from prison in Iran was not able to get a signature on bail paperwork because a judge is on vacation until Tuesday, he told CNN on Sunday.
Masoud Shafiee, attorney for Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer, told CNN that he was "very hopeful" about their release. The lawyer raised hopes earlier in the week that the pair could soon be freed after their bail was paid.
However, the signatures of two judges are needed to prove that bail has been paid.
The two men and a third hiker, Sarah Shourd, were seized in July 2009, while hiking in the Kurdish region of northern Iraq, after apparently straying into Iran across an unmarked border.
Iranian authorities arrested them, claiming they were spies and had entered the country illegally. Shourd, who is Bauer's fiancee, was released last year for medical reasons, although authorities said her case remains open.

Anyone want to go hiking in Iran?
on vacation lol. sounds like our congressmen.
The truth will come out when they are out of Iran. I still believe they never did cross over into Iran.. Iranian soldiers crossed over into Iraq and grabbed them. That was their claim at the begining of all this. Even the locals backed up their story.
Rick you are 100% correct where is the like button.
It's possible... On the other hand, "hiking in Iraq"? Come on...
Vacation.. so THATS what the million bucks was for. The Judge musta went WOO HOO, Club Med here I come !!in his head when THAT check cleared.
In jail for that long. Oh its cause. They were american.
Lets get serious here. Only journalist get caught hiking–taking pictures while sightseeing. We all know what Iran and North Korea is like so why go near there unless you are looking for a story.
We have better surveillance if we want and don't need reporter peeking and snooping around with a camera.
I WOULDN'T mind going hiking in iran... they give you free room and board..
Lets be frank, I don't know where they were. But why would you want to go hiking in Iraq or Iran?
there is lots of stuff to see.. lots of stories from the bible take place there...
Did they go because of the sheep????bahhhh
and I refuse to play "frank" just call me s kel .....thank you.
They've probably already got the money in the bank and are letting it gain interest before they post it to their account.
Rick you're assuming they'll make it out of Iran. That may be assuming to much.
they have to hike out??? or will they atleast get a ride?
What's to prevent the second judge from saying the bail hasn't been paid?
bail... what bail?... lol...
