Texas death row inmate executed

Texas death row inmate Lawrence Russell Brewer, 44, was executed by lethal execution at 7:21 p.m. ET Wednesday, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said.

Brewer was one of three men found guilty for his involvement in the dragging death of James Byrd 13 years ago.

Brewer and two other white men kidnapped the 49-year-old black man on the night of June 7, 1998. They chained him by the ankles to the back of a pickup truck and dragged him for 3 ½ miles down a country road near Jasper, Texas. Byrd died when he was decapitated after he hit a culvert.

Prosecutors said the crime, which they described it as one of the most vicious hate crimes in U.S. history, was intended to promote Brewer's fledgling white supremacist organization.

Why did it take so long to bring these racists to justice?

Because our legislative branch og government..you know, the one with the authority to overturn Supreme Court decisions that impose the will of the few on the many, has been taken-over by men who cheat on their wives and enjoy taking it up the ass. (read the 11th amendment before you ask such a stupid question)

How exciting-but who would want to clean up that last disgusting low class meal he ate when he finally let go. I think these last meals are not necessary and they should receive no food or water after midnight just like when have surgery and have to be put under the next day.
I hope I hear reports on him crying and shaking like the little dickless loser he was.
Good going Texas, this one screams death penatly but I prefer the electric chair or a slow hangining for this one and his pals.

I'm sad to see that no one here has the courage to stand against capital punishment, no matter how heinous the crime. murder by one's government is never the answer, no matter what.

How is this so different then killing someone to protect our country? I don't like the idea of the death penalty but their are some crimes done by such dangerous criminals that make it comparable to protecting ourselves.

      I do, Zoe.

I've been fighting this barbarism for years.

Ameicans have to kill what they're scared of.

      And there's a lot they're scared of.

Which is why they need the coward's ultimate weapon – guns.

You wouldn't have so many murders if you didn't have so many guns.

      I know... ridiculous logic.

Fully 3/4ths of US believe in the God of the bible who commands "Thous shalt NOT murder" in his ten commandments. The ten were just the start...keep reading and you will see where we ARE commanded to kill murderers. Killing is NOT the same as murdering. 'Murder' def "the taking of human life with malice aforethought" as in pre-emptive war.

Many of us don't believe in the ficticious being in the sky. My moral code is unwavering:
      1. Killing this man is the right thing to do.
      2. Killing people for politics and money, such as our war in Iraq, is the WRONG thing to do.

The ten commandments are true. But it also tells us an eye for an eye, and tooth for a tooth.. I'm pro execution, whats worse is a guy on death row for thirteen years and then they want to execute him or her. Shame on them!!!

  6. This is the way it really is

Where is Al Sharpton on this one?

Yes, where are the plethora of washed-up Hollywood buttinskies, professional rabble rousers, pious holier-than-thou religious freaks and idiotic students? They all seem to be raising cane about the Davis case in Georgia.

Could it possibly be that they're the real racists?

Acceptable answers are yes, or yes, or HELL yes.

oooo can i join the "make something seem racist" game?

i got one!! Casey Anthony = white. she got away with murder. Troy Davis was black, so he got killed. See? Racism!

Big difference between these two cases: Brewer admitted he was guilty.

You mean the country that had lines drawn on a map by the time you were born? As if YOU had, or have, anything to do with it? Oh, that country. Who? OK. What?

Some people just shouldn't be in this world and Brewer was one of that type. His utter & complete cruelty towards another human being justifies removing him completely from our midst. I don't take the death penalty lightly and it should never be used if there is the slightest doubt about the guilt of the convict. In fact I generally believe most bad criminals should do hard, mean time. It isn't enough to just lose their freedom. They should suffer. Even in this case I'd recommend that but it isn't possible to make it hard enough for this guy. Brewer deserved to die. I just wish it could have been slow and painful for him. For example they could have dragged his raw body down a street for 3 1/2 miles and then decapitated him. Just a thought..

I'm glad that monster is gone . and trust me he won't be miss only by his racist parents and his skinhead buddies . so good riddance . and even if the victim was white and if this was the other way around I still would feel the same way.. I wouldn't feel any different .I hate racist with a passion black ,white etc a racist doesn't have to be white . racist are nothing but dirt. I sure hope they won't make a movie about this the killers families doesn't deserve a dime off of this inhumane crime . he didn't have to show any remorse for what he done eye for an eye , tooth for an tooth .
