[Update 7:58 p.m. ET Sunday] Part of the U.S. Embassy annex in Kabul came under attack early Monday, a U.S. official and an official from the International Security Assistance Force said. The attack was believed to be largely over by 4 a.m. local time (7:30 p.m. Saturday ET), and there was not yet any word on casualties.
Insurgents waged a 19-hour siege on the embassy September 14. U.S. officials have blamed that attack on the Haqqani network, which is believed to have clandestine ties to Pakistan's ISI intelligence service.

When will we ever learn...Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan..how many countless lives, dollars and wounded must we continue to pile on until we learn...we cannot, must not be the worlds only peace keeper. We always end up the aggressor in retaliation to these animals way of life/death. Pack it up, move out, come home. Drone the places and if they start invading other countries..blow em up..nuff said.
Well said.
Where did the Haqqani network come from. How did they plan such a attack? Are they funded by a government who ts receiving U.S. military aide?
