Two killed in attack on U.S. Embassy annex in Kabul

[Update 5:23 a.m. ET Monday] Two people were killed and one wounded in a shooting incident Sunday night at an annex of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, an embassy spokesman said.  The dead included a U.S. citizen and an Afghan citizen.  Another American was wounded, the spokesman said.

[Update 7:58 p.m. ET Sunday] Part of the U.S. Embassy annex in Kabul came under attack early Monday, a U.S. official and an official from the International Security Assistance Force said. The attack was believed to be largely over by 4 a.m. local time (7:30 p.m. Saturday ET), and there was not yet any word on casualties.

Insurgents waged a 19-hour siege on the embassy September 14. U.S. officials have blamed that attack on the Haqqani network, which is believed to have clandestine ties to Pakistan's ISI intelligence service.

When will we ever learn...Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, Iran, many countless lives, dollars and wounded must we continue to pile on until we learn...we cannot, must not be the worlds only peace keeper. We always end up the aggressor in retaliation to these animals way of life/death. Pack it up, move out, come home. Drone the places and if they start invading other countries..blow em up..nuff said.

Where did the Haqqani network come from. How did they plan such a attack? Are they funded by a government who ts receiving U.S. military aide?

India has messed up the neighborhood and continues to play a double game game and finance terrorists in Afghanistan, Iran, Iran and Turkey.

While Islamic countries is certainly color blind and biased towards infidels, we are not. We are aware of your double game gone wild and are now properly accused of back stabbing.

It's US itself. Making and paving the way to start an offence against Pak. World knows the US traditions, first they build allys and then they go against them once war moves into the next stage. In this case, Post-Usama, now US needs new grounds to continue "War On Terror".
