Two new narco subs found in Colombia

Authorities in Colombia have confiscated two narco subs, submersibles designed to smuggle cocaine, since Friday, according to news reports.

A vessel found on the country's Pacific coast on Friday could carry up to 10 tons of cocaine and was outfitted with a GPS navigation system, according to a report from

On Monday, authorities said they found a smaller but more sophisticated submarine hidden in a wooden shack in dense coastal jungle north of where the first sub was found Friday, according to a report from the BBC.

The second sub, named The Black Pearl, was made of steel and fiberglass and could carry four tons of cocaine, the BBC report said. It could stay submerged for 10 days with a crew of five and had radar, navigation and communication systems that made it worth $2 million, the report said.

Both vessels were built under the orders of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebel group, which finances its operations with cocaine sales, according to the reports.

In February, Colombian authorities captures a 100-foot-long narco sub capable of traveling to Mexico at depths of up to 30 feet.

THIS GROUP of terrorists is also supported by Hugo Chavez, who sends them money, false papers, and arms, and gives them safe-houses in Venezuela where they can hide.

americans didn't sever the heads, murder the children, dangle the bodies from bridges. Americans don't have an impotent government that has failed to control the cartels. Amricans didn't create the insanity of the zetas, allow the streets to become killing grounds. We are not slaughtering our own people in the streets by the tens of thousands. Buying a bag of drugs seems pretty insignificant in the face of the horror that mexicans are imflicting upon their own people.

or LEGALIZE drugs and stop mandating what grown adults can and can't put inside their own bodies, and the cartels have zero money

Any true american would make legalization of drugs a states right. Any moron could see that prohibition has never worked. And even my mostly-blind-conservative grandmother could see that wasting money jailing non-violent drug offenders while giving all of the uncollected tax dollars, from drug sales, to gangs and drug dealers is a failing strategy. But no, we'll do what christian mothers "feel" is best while they project their morals on the rest of america.

That's a shame, where is all the money of these drug barons ? That thing is so old ! Oh please guys stop considering that as a submarine ! Maybe the owner doesn't need it anymore and he found a way to get rid of it.

Legalizing some drugs may help, but they aren't the only solution to the problem, because the drug cartels in Mexico have branched out into various other enterprises. They are involved in bootleg DVD sales for instance.

    Should we legalize piracy?
