House OKs spending measure to avert shutdown for week

The U.S. House approved a short-term spending measure Thursday to fund the federal government into next week as part of a deal to avert a partial shutdown over increased disaster aid.

The measure, which the Senate previously approved, now goes to President Barack Obama to be signed into law before the end of the current fiscal year at midnight Friday.

Wow, lets keep kicking the can down the road. Good job on "avoiding a government shutdown". I'm sick of hearing about the governments problems and the parties blaming each other about who messed things up. I can't see things ever getting better for the US government.

If those Republican want to shut down the Goverment let they do it. The Unites States will become an out law country, the Police Department will close, Fire Houses, Hospitals and the Army will be desbanded and those Republican are going to live in a country like Somalia. It is stupid to play with politic and put our country at risk where we are becoming a Joke! in the International Arena. The Frenchs that we used to make fun of them are now laughing at us, we look like kids fighting for a candies. My feeling is that every thing is not about policy I believe it is about President Obama that make some of those racist very unconfortable. I guess some of them think that he does not deserve to be our President!

Fall on hard times...have your family bail you out......why the Govt? The Govt just steals from the working class and rewards the lazy class. Free handouts should come from Family or Friends who actually know your situation and know that your not a lazy scam artist. The Govt however just labels every welfare recipient as troubled of no fault of their own. There are people who Milk the system dry but never intend on paying taxes. Thats the problem.

Sure just shave off some more "extra" money we've got lying around. See what else begins to collaspe, thats Obama financing 101. America hows that working for you so far!?

I'm getting sick of "conservatives" and "liberals" blaming one another for all the problems we face. These extremists, whether from the right or the left, ARE the problem. The "Tea Party," Rush, MoveOn...the list goes on...and posters who themselves fall into one extremist camp or the other......you guys are the problem! Extremism is what is killing America as we know it.
