Jet Blue flight hits strong turbulence; 7 injured

Severe turbulence contributed to seven injuries - six related to the head, back or neck and one from a severe coffee burn - on Sunday night aboard a Jet Blue flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Boston's Logan Airport spokesman Phil Orlandella said.

Flight 852 landed in Boston, its intended destination around 10 p.m., about 20 minutes ahead of schedule, according to the airline's website.

KT, you're assuming the passenger was drinking it during turbulance. The coffee may have been spilled by a flight attendant or another passenger.

You weren't born with wheels so does that mean you don't drive either?

This story is a real-life reminder on how important it is to follow the safety instructions from the flight crew.

Nothing scarier than mid air incidents. Still, sometimes I need to fly.

I fly all the time for my work. Sometimes I think of the United States as being the size of a post-card map on which I'm standing because I'm so tired of flying over it.
When I started doing this at twenty-one, I thought it was cute to stand in the aisle–with a martini–and talk to other passengers while the flight attendant kept telling me to sit down.
Now I keep my seat belt tightly buckled throughout the flight.
After a few scares, one learns to respect the danger of the calculated risk.

I like to don my green tutu and jump up on the parallel bars at my gym. Then I jump way up high over to the trampoline and pretend I'm flying.
