Who are the voices behind the protests, movement to #OccupyWallStreet?

Protesters have been camping out at New York’s Zuccotti Park for more than two weeks.

What started as call to action by Adbusters, a Canadian anti-consumer organization, to protest greed and corruption in Manhattan's Financial District has grown into a catch-all movement of dissent and frustration with current norms.

Overheard on CNN.com: What do the protesters want?

Fueled by social media, the protests have persisted and have begun to attract mainstream attention. By now, the Occupy Wall Street event is attracting a lot of street musicians and tourists.

The atmosphere appears more festive than angry.

Those assembled say there is no leadership, but there’s plenty of organization. Food continues to be donated, and protesters take shifts for things such as sanitation duty in which they sweep the park. There are no restrooms, but there are plenty of fast-food restaurants and coffee shops nearby for bathroom breaks.

“It’s the '60s without the drugs,” says Jennifer Jager, who lives near the park and has been watching and visiting the protesters.

“A lot of them who started it are younger than my son,” she says.

CNN’s Susanna Capelouto and Jonathan Binder spent an afternoon with the protesters and sent this audio postcard:

    A few posters here–such as "Mark"–make sense.
Many writing out rabble cannot think.
The absence of reason in this demonstration is frightening.
    La Terreur...

But looking down your nose makes you superior to others. A great offense to not really saying or making any decisions. You are not a doer, just a sit back and see kind judgemental guy?

It's discontent starting to take shape....Give it time and coherent thoughts will surface......if it doesn't collapse into riots first

Who paid for the campaigns of the politicians who are trying to denigrate these protesters? Wall Street and Corporate America. –the very same parties the protesters are protesting against. America is not a democracy it is a corpocracy and until we gain back representative government there should be protests in the street. No more corporate campaign funding, no more lobbying, no more Citizens United!!

This most recent CNN homepage link is just more proof that the media refuses to report on these protests. Right?

Of all the pictures, they have to choose the one to undermine the credibility the most don't they? Look at hundreds of normal looking people there, and they get these people right down center. CNN knows where the money comes from.

Poor clueless kids, they are not going to change a thing. Wish them the best but until they get mom, dad, grandma and gramdpa out there, not a darn thing is going to happen. Heck, no one has even been hed accountable for the mess were in...unless you consider us taxpayers.

How utterly stupi. A protest for the sake of a protest. Flash mob would have been more fun.

I like Archie de Bunker at 6:32. He thinks.
I put the blame on the voices behind the causes of the need to protest:
    John Reed,
    John L. Lewis,
Those who perverted FDR's concept of Social Security,
    et al.

    Hello Gents and Ladies,

I read all of the posts and can appreciate the great debate. But folks who cannot believe that there are people our citizens down on wall street protesting? Yes they do not have a leader, they no real point or goal, hey but they are real organized!!!

Wake up!!!! I mean I love CNN and actually watch every day and night. But step back and think about it, if they really told us what really has happened there would be mass chaos! I know the truth and what went on! I pray every night that we can get through this with no violence and people and od I mean people are held accountable!

Please just google or yahoo the film called, Inside Job, its about economic meltdown!! It's Has been produced written and direct by Charles Ferguson. Please check it out on Sony pictures classic website. This is going be great for all the people who have been detached from reality!!! Peace
