Congress issues subpoena for Holder, others in 'Fast and Furious' probe

Congressional investigators have issued a subpoena for communications from several top Justice Department officials - including Attorney General Eric Holder - relating to the discredited "Fast and Furious" federal gunrunning operation, according to Rep. Darrell Issa, R-California.

Operation Fast and Furious involved agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowing illegal sales of guns believed to be destined for Mexican drug cartels to "walk" from Phoenix, Arizona, gun stores into Mexico.

The idea was to track the sellers and purchasers of guns to Mexican cartels, but the program became mired in controversy after weapons found at Mexican and American murder scenes were traced back to the program. Mexican officials and critics in the United States called the program a failure, saying it exacerbated the longstanding problem of U.S. weapons getting into the hands of the violent Mexican cartels.

This is what happens when you believe that the ends justify the means – the means become the ends.

we have Leaders with no skills. Why does the Whitehouse bumble everything? Why does the rest of the world laugh at us? Why can't the President do anything but make empty promises?

Simple – he has no clue of what leadership is. No skills but willing to hand out welfare money to buy votes.

Maybe Joe Biden will run for President this time. That would be a step upwards.

The same people who post comments about the about the president are the ones who are in that 200,000 tax bracket. If you think you can fix the problem then run for office and make a change for all of us. If not ask the president to sit down explain to him and congress your idea will work for middle class.

If the average person got caught with illegal weapons, he would go to jail for a very long time. Here we have our own law enforcement selling weapons to drug dealers with the hopes of getting to the "big bad wolf." What a joke. I would be willing to bet that nobody involved gets convicted no less indicted for their actions. Another example of our government taking care of us lowly citizens.

Rep. Issa should be put in prison for wasting taxpayer money on his worthless investigations. This clueless twit has a history of partisan, political, baseless investigations. He should pay, out of his own pocket for this one. He should also be called out, on this one. He is an insult to justice. He should resign.

Belinda, it appears you are very bias in your critical thinking or lack of it. The AG lied about his knowledge and involvement. An operation of this magnitude requires blessings from the highest levels of government. Investigating the sell of weapons that cross borders is far from "worthless." It is Holder the great who should resign. I hope they are paying you.

If Holder could take a break from trying to stop states from enforcing Federal Immigration Laws, he might have time to do his job and serve the American people.

America is an educated nation and we deserve better lies. How can an informed electorate make decisions when the lies are so crappy. We need lies we can believe in.
