Janitor finds mentally disabled people chained in basement; 3 arrested

Three suspects accused of chaining mentally disabled people and stealing their Social Security checks were arrested in Philadelphia.

They were arrested Friday after a janitor doing checks at a building found four victims - a 29-year-old woman, and three men, ages 31, 35 and 31 - locked up in a basement boiler room at a Philadelphia residence, said Lt. Ray Evers, a police spokesman. The janitor released the four and called police.

Authorities believe the victims had been trapped in the tiny room for up to a week. Evers said they suffered from bed sores and "injuries that are very, very hard to describe."

    Who am I tofigure out what's wrong with our Judicial system? I can't protect my Family, unless I'm informed. This information has informed me, now I'm going to take action. 16 people have died from this already, and I don't want one of my friends to be the nest victim.

    @Denver Dave:
    More and more juries are not fooled by this ploy, thankfully.
    The 'Anti-depressant' defense, et al, has not gained as strong an influence as it once thought it was.
    That being said, I agree with most of what your say.
    The problem is *now* what to do with the poor souls in the article above, and what can be done to help them...and what can be done to prevent the menatlly ill to be taken advantage of.

    @Denver Dave. I don't have a PC either but I have a brain. I googled your Bayer AG story and there it was. Something has got to be done about criminals claiming that they are innocent just because they were under the influence of prescription drugs. The article about that dirty old man that got caught molesting children, I could'lt believe what i was reading. They really did put that pervert in the state hospital instead of sending him to jail. Those poor souls in the hospitals must ne terrified to have men like him in there with them.

    Let us stop confusing mentally ill and mentally challenged with the crimminally insane. Typically the only victim in this group is them...criminally insane hurt and kill people.

    Banasy, we here in Colorado are taking steps to protect the genuinely mentally challenged from the common criminals we are being forced to house together. The law won't allow us to jail anyone claiming the pharmaceutical defense. We used to allow the mentally ill to have their own little world in our state hospitals, having b/f and g/f.. But the criminal ped's began abusing our regular patients, so now we don't allow any wards of the hospital to engage in relations. These druggies thought they could stay in a hospital rather than jails and still get free meds and molest our patients. They can do that once they get to prison, but NOT in our state hospitals. We don't chain them down, but we do strap them down and file additional charges when they try to molest our patients, esp. the younger boys who seem to be their fav. targets. And even then, they claim to be not guilty b/c of pharmaceuticals.

    And one must admit that they, the criminals claiming the pharmaceutical defense, do have a defense. The very warning labels on the drugs they have been prescribed for years, even decades in some cases, warn of brain damage as ab side effect. And with the bleeding heart juries we have, a lot of them walk.

    is the topic of THIS blog. Not the prison system. And at the time he was REQUIRED BY LAW to have this dpt shot l98l to be exact, there was no warning label! You were required to have these inoculations to attend school.

    Chrissy? We are all mentally challenged. Even Eistein only used a small percentage of his brain during the course of his life. For an PC to match just the memory capacity of one human brain, it would need to be big enough to cover the entire surface of the earth. Every single other animal on earth uses 100% of their brains capacity except for humans, who by the time they die of old age have only been able to use about 1/10th of 1% of their brains memory capacity. This fact gives evolutionists problems. The theroy of evolutoon has NOTHING that can explain this disparity.

    Situations like this can be directly linked to poor oversight (health care workers, social workers, overloaded case managers, etc) that are the result of draconian budget reductions and tax cuts. Occurrences like this will become more common place as more 'cuts' happen. Tax revenue will allow for proper oversight and care for both the truly mentally ill and our aging population (or do we need to see a similar story about our seniors to know something like this could happen to them as well). What do you think would happen if we let the republicans like Paul Ryan get their hands on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid? Vote Democrat people, those who can't defend themselves and depending on us.
