Police: More alleged victims found in Philly captives case

One of the women rescued from a boiler room in a Philadelphia apartment building says she had two children while she was held against her will, police said Tuesday in another development in the bizarre case.

The woman is one of four mentally disabled adults rescued from the boiler room over the weekend and authorities have located 10 others who may be victims in the case, said Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey.

The four people - three men and a woman ranging in age from 29 to 41 - were found locked in the room, with no food and only a bucket for a toilet, police said.

The pitch-black, 15-foot-by-6-foot space housed what police described as a boiler used to heat the building. A penetrating stench of urine and feces still hung in the chamber days after the discovery.

This is nothing new it has been going on for years. Way back when the leftists forced the states to shut down facilities for the mentally ill and send them a check instead. What did they think was going to happen?

Of course. 'The leftists' are to blame. It's all their fault. It's especially funny to see them being blamed for 'mythical shutdown' of what would normally be considered a part of 'big government health care system'. Well, as long as the story fits together in your mind. 🙂

i am sure before it's all over and all found they will find some that died. giving only 8 years to one for murder sent them a message the risk involved outweighed the benefits They need the death sentence ir at least 50 years without parole so by the rime they get out they will be to old to hurt anybody else.

    Re "Leftists:"
I am frequently on the left side of social issues, but I opposed the dispersing of the mentally ill into the community many years ago when it began.
Activists with utopian dreams have an obligation to follow their plans through to practical conclusions. This includes the responsible hiring of competent social workers to oversee the challenged, the operative word being "competent."

It wasn't the left or the right that caused this.
This was a decision by every state's government to close these facilities after many spending cuts coming straight from the federal government.
    Want less government?
    This is what you get.

I have said all along that there were more victims.
I pray that they're still alive.
