Rapper Heavy D dies at 44

Dwight Arrington Myers, also known as rapper Heavy D, died Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles coroner’s office.

He was 44.

The emergency room staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center pronounced Myers dead "earlier this afternoon," L.A. Coroner Chief of Operations Craig Harvey said.

Myers gained fame in the late 1980s as part of the rap group Heavy D & the Boyz. Driven by the success of the group's first single, "The Overweight Lover's In the House," Heavy D & the Boyz gained national exposure and became a fixture on the hip-hop scene.

Later Myers would turn to acting. He was cast in bit parts in several sitcoms and movies in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The cause of death is yet to be determined but the coroner's office will begin an investigation.

Oh well, what? That's the best you got? Why don't you go ahead and spew out the rest.

Rest in Peace Heavy D...Why do people come on sights like this the moment someone passes away and start disrespecting people? It's very disturbing. Just saying....

CNN: I've condensed your entire article into one sentence. Now THIS is reporting:

The emergency room at Cedars Sinai Hospital pronounced Dwight Arrington Myers, aka rapper Heavy D, dead this afternoon, but did not disclose the cause of death.

No, "Nancy." That's a caption. Fluff it up a bit. Fill the column. Some day when you grow up and become a big-boy reporter, you'll understand. (By the way; you SUCK on Dancing with the Stars.)

The amount of respect some of these people have for a person who just died, is pitiful. You should be ashamed of yourselves. RIP Heavy D, you've made your legacy and won't be forgotten. RIP.

Tell me about it. Some people are going WAY over the top and they only know his music. They don't even know his cause of death yet. Suppose it was autoerotic asphyxiation? Would that garner this much respect? [shudder]

You're 20 and you communicate like that? Stay in school. Learn to spell. Maybe then people will start to take you seriously.

Some people are so STUPID and need to keep the STUPID comments to themselves! What if it was YOU or YOUR RELATIVE who just died! Have some fricken respect, STUPID!

R.I.P. Heavy D, you will be missed! You paved the way for a lot of musicians and you'll always be remembered!
