Tiger Woods: Former caddy not racist

Golfer Tiger Woods Tuesday addressed a racially-tinged remark made by his former caddy, telling reporters Steve Williams apologized and is not a racist.

"It was a wrong thing to say, something that we both acknowledge," Woods said, speaking at the Lakes Golf Club in Sydney, site of this week's Australian Open, according to his website.

Woods and Williams met earlier in the day, and shook hands after Williams apologized, the website reported.

Those right wing thugs in Washington have done it this time. I'm not sure what, but give me a few minutes and I'll figure it out. But Hugo Chavez is right, golf should be outlawed. It is a horrible waste of land and all golf courses should be turned into collective farms. Everyone on the farm should wear the same clothes because we are all the same. All human beings are exactly alike. We are all interchangeable. That is why I keep stealing SN's. Because I am you, and you are me. Comrad.

If Tiger had a real mind as to his race, he would not have had him in the first place! These mix-race kids are usually messed up! We should band the mixing of the races!

The crap about Augusta and MJ's father is all just a smoke and mirrors to take the thread to a direction it wasn't formerly at.
    Alledgedly.

Tiger has certainly paid for his sins. He is not the worst father, husband or person. He is not the only man that wanted had “a little bit on the side” (other women). Remember Bill Clinton he had significantly more public responsibilities, yet he was alleged to be a “hound dog”.
Steve Williams’s outburst and nasty behaviour about his former employer is no surprise to me. His conduct is typical of a large number of people in New Zealand. I lived in New Zealand for nearly twenty years and have observed their racist behaviours. If they cannot control or own the subject, they will do anything to destroy it.
I remembered Tiger bending over backwards for Steve Williams. I can recall Tiger visiting New Zealand solely to promote Steve Williams projects. Steve Williams made millions working for Tiger, yet he chose to behave like a nincompoop. The working relationship between Tiger and Steve Williams last longer than Tigers marriage, yet Williams (who is employed) continue to demonstrate his unhappiness along with violent tendencies and threat.
Tiger Woods incorrectly believe that Steve Williams is not a racist. If Tiger was a white golf player Steve Williams would have most likely accepted his final pay cheque, work certificate, reference and quietly move on.
I will take this opportunity to wish Tiger a successful game.

The fact of whether Mr. Williams is or is not a racist is should not be the issue – responsibility for his racist comment should be at the forefront. I am sure that Mr. Williams is not a murderer, but in public, even if in jest, he cannot say "all abortion participants should be, themselves killed"! His status as a murder would not be evaluated but the content of his declaration would be! Why are we so willing to pour our hearts of forgiveness in this matter: because it is Steve Williams, because it was directed at Blacks, or because it was referencing Tiger Woods and the colour of his private parts?
