Man arrested in probe of White House bullets

Authorities have arrested a man who allegedly was involved in a shooting incident that may be responsible for two bullets found this week at the White House, the U.S. Secret Service said.

Police arrested Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez near Indiana, Pennsylvania, the U.S. Secret Service said. Authorities say they believe he was involved in a shooting that happened near the White House in Washington, D.C., on Friday night.

Two bullets were found Tuesday, including one that hit an exterior White House window and was stopped by bulletproof glass, and another found on the White House exterior.

Ortega-Hernandez is in the custody of the Pennsylvania State Police.

Really need that many names in order to tell people your name. Can't you just pick one and stay with that?
We (and I'm sure I speak for most people) don't care if you feel you have to honor your Grandfather or Family.....if you wanted to do that, you wouldn't have shot up the White House. Moron.

Surely the NRA can come up with a way to keep guns and assault rifles out of the hands of felons and the mentally ill. If not they shouldn't be supporting gun sales!
Track serial numbers. Report sales to a central database. Background checks even at Gun shows – and prosecution of offenders. It isn't that hard. The NRA just doesn't want to do it. And neither do the Tea Baggers.

Blame the NRA. Our government is purposely letting guns get into the hands of illegals across the border and you are talking about the NRA. Get a clue. You don't know Jack!

The NRA is one of hte country's foremost proponents of law enforcement. This is the exact kind of thing they stand AGAINST!

Guns don't kill people. People kill people. The NRA is not to blame.

Agreed. The only way to a safe America as has been statistically and scientifically shown is to support powerful gun rights. Despite not owning one, I count on the safety lawful gun owners afford all of us as protection from those who disregard laws in general. Outlaws will continue to haunt us forever. Our only two protections, are law enforcement that can attempt to followup on law breakers like this.... and gun owners who can actually prevent the law breakers from doing the harm at the point of impact. Both are lynchpins of a free and secure country.

Hey Jack! How does it make you feel to know that the NRA is the most effective political lobby in the country at every governmental level. If politicians were as fearful of the the rest of us as they are of the NRA, the country would not be bankrupt.

serial numbers are kept by the ATF and FFLs, sales are tracked through the acquisition/disposition reports provided by FFLs to the ATF and gun shows perform background checks, it's the people who go in there and but the gun for someone else (straw purchase).

Fair laws for everyone would prevent much violence ... however the laws have been corrupted and the system warped to favor the rich.............. Low income people can not even get their cases heard because the courts are so back logged while the corporation steal from the poor through false billing and general contract violations / fraud!!

Did anyone see the picture of this guy!!! He resembles the look of a left wing hippie Occupier, not a so called "Tea Bagger". By the the way Jack, this has nothing to do with legal gun sales to wack job hippie. Consider the fact the gun may be stolen or illegally bought from operation Fast & Furious!

Of course DC does have violence. But if you check the search engines you will find the district and city that Boehner, the tan man, represents has more violence that DC has had for the last two years. Check it out.

We are biased in our approach in identifying this man. We should have said even without an arrest that the suspect is a Muslim of middle eastern origin, who was part of a sleeper cell. He was a prominent member of a Muslim community and was not involved previously in any incident. You could have even said that even though he is a Christian but at the time when he was firing the gun he became Muslim and after committing to the act converted to Christianity.
