Bloomberg announces arrest of terror suspect

Authorities have arrested a man they claim was plotting to detonate pipe bombs, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Sunday night.

The New York City man's intended targets were U.S. military personnel who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as U.S. postal facilities and police stations, the mayor said.

The suspect allegedly learned how to make a pipe bomb after reading Inspire, the al Qaeda terrorist network's English-language online propaganda, recruiting and training magazine, according to New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelley.

He'd acquired all the material need for the explosive device, going as far as drilling holes into the would-be pipe bomb, a source said.

The alleged attacker had been monitored by the New York Police Department for about two years, according to the source.

$169.99 eh? Also, this guy's a pathetic loser. Me and my buddies were making pipe bombs in junior high. We didn't kill anybody. Just set them off in the woods. Maybe I should be an engineer....

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Jose Pimental, aka Muhammad Yusef, became an American citizen and is an Al-Qaeda sympathizer. Isn't that nice....

It's important for the government to keep a close watch on citizens' dangerous activities.
I live in New York City, where Mayor Bloomberg does wonderful work to keep the crime rate as low as possible.
The government can tap my telephone anytime at all: they may get an earful of dirty words, and a few phrases that aren't PC, but my city will be safer. The guy next door may be planning to blow me up.

I bet that they're having a gigantic field day at Tammany Hall in New York City over this arrest! Now the guy will get at least 1000 years behind bars for this. He's quite right about the fact that the U.S. has no business sending troops to neither Iraq nor Afghanistan and I totally agree!!!
