Occupy targets retailers on Black Friday

The Occupy movement is taking on the biggest retail day of the season, calling on protesters to occupy major retailers on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.

"OCCUPY BLACK FRIDAY by occupying/boycotting large chain stores and publicly traded retail" is the message posted on the website stopblackfriday.com.

The movement contends that 1% of the country is making money at the expense of the other 99%.

"The credit cards the 99% overcharge will allow the 1% to enrich themselves gluttonously on the backs of hardworking people who simply want to provide a memorable time for their families," the website says.

"So just imagine what would happen to the 1% if the 99% did not spend on Black Friday."

The site asks protesters to target only "publicly traded large businesses" and support small businesses "that serve our local communities."

The site lists Abercrombie & Fitch, Amazon.com, AT&T Wireless, Burlington Coat Factory, Dick's Sporting Goods, Dollar Tree, The Home Depot, Neiman Marcus, Office Max, Toys "R" Us, Verizon Wireless and Wal-Mart as businesses that should be boycotted or occupied.

"We are NOT anti-capitalist, just anti-crapitalist," the site says.

A whole bunch of whiney little OWSers are going to really be indignant when they finally figure out that cops have "selective blindness" when it comes to d-bags getting a beating for bothering decent people.

Blocking people from getting into stores doesn't stop everything from being made in China. You guys are barking up the wrong tree, go protest in DC, quit being jerks to those of us you claim to support. You're all so blinded by your mob that you haven't noticed the dwindling percentage of the 99% that supports your movment.

The "Private Sector" has what has done this to America sending jobs to China and Mexico to pay slave labor so the CEO can make 300% more than the working class American who could do the job here with fair wages.

My advice to the Occupy folks comes from Jeffrey Lebowski (the elder), "I suggest you do what your parents did. Get a job, Sir!"

You're right, Suzie. It's unconsciounable to think you have a right to other people's money when you haven't earned it. Oh, wait – that's the Occupy goal...

Hilarious....These morons want to stop the "1%" by getting in the way of others in the "99%" from enjoying a day of shopping after Thanksgiving?? What is the purpose of punishing those in the same group as themselves???

So, OWS wants to disrupt the economy on Black Friday. Shut down stores and keep people from spending money.

And they think this will harm the rich more than working people who are just getting by. What complete nonsense. The rich can withstand interruptions and show downs in the economy. It's the working people who are struggling to pay the bills who will be harmed by their actions.

These people are fools. They don't have any plans other than to protest and cause problems.

If they think they are unpopular now, just wait and see what happens when they try to harm the lives of millions of everyday Americans who are shopping and working.

Funny, no mention of Apple on this list, even though they are one of the biggest companies with margins of over 50% on products. And they use China. Guess these occupy idiots are too stupid to realize their own hypocrisy.

I love Apple, I love my bank, and I love my capitalist country. I hate the deadbeats I pay for.

Exactly and who are those Occupy people to assume that everyone buying stuff is overcharging on credit cards in the first place. They aren't very smart at all and don't have enough life experience at this point.

how about you teach people to stop being materialistic or how to save money then they wouldn't over charge. i am 28 and have no credit cards and i am able to give my friends and family a good present. so now not only is the government trying to protect me from my self i have to deal with OWS trying to protect me from my self?

Nice. I am 28 as well and do have credit cards. I have a good job I am able to pay them and then some every month as well as save money. They work well for me and my wife and we don't abuse them. The OWS people seem to send a message that no one can be responsible. Well, they are wrong.

Makes me want to go out and buy more! I thought obama was supporting these clowns until it got violent. then he tried to separate his ugly self from them. his fingerprints are all over the OWS and he is probably funding them. these idiots dont work and are part of the 0% the percent that doesnt matter. they are made up of tree huggers, environment wacks, minorities, welfare maggots, wait isnt that the demonrat party????????

Ummmm I haven't seen or heard anything from any credible source to show that Obama is linked to OWS other than he is the president of the country they are doing this in. In fact it is a local issue more so than a federal issue. Most of the people involved at this point are people that aren't affiliated with any party.
