Gotta Watch: Shopping frenzy

The madness of Black Friday is behind us. Despite an increase in sales it was a day marred by violence at several stores. As we enter Cyber Monday, bargain hunters will be able to take advantage of sales online instead of having to risk hand-to-hand combat in the aisles. While you browse the Web for deals, take a look at some of the craziest moments from Black Friday, from shoppers rioting over a waffle iron or going to great lengths to get a spot in line.

Woman pepper-sprays shoppers – Police say a woman pepper-sprayed fellow customers on Black Friday to make sure she got a hold of a deal at a Los Angeles Wal-Mart. The woman then proceeded to pay for her items and leave before police arrived.

Brawl at the jewelry counter – Two men fight each other at a Wal-Mart jewelry counter in Kissimmee, Florida. Police had to intervene to break up the scuffle.

Shocking deals – iReporter Ryan Casale captures footage of a Black Friday shopper at a Wal-Mart in Southington, Connecticut being Tasered by police.

I have a hard time believing that retailers don't chuckle at the way people jump at these sales like a dog at a milk bone.

Consum-aholics, this is what you create in this country when you bombard everyone with product advertising and tv programs glorifying ultra matertialistic people. Everything is disposable, not because it's broken, but because we have to have the newer, more powerful, faster, shinier, cooler everything all the time. If your kid doesn't have the newest gaming console, 32" hdtv in his room, and an iPhone by the time he's 10, then you are an aweful parent. We've become obsessed with satisfying our every want at any cost, and then teach the kids to do the same. And you wonder why kids are so violent, so young and over the most trivial things? Just like their parents... their priorities aren't even close to being in order.

Bummer, Fallen Angel. There should be some sort of punishment to deter retailers from repackaging junk. I hate bureaucrats, don't you?

Perhaps they should ban black thursday and black friday, if only to protect the people from themselves. Everyone contact your reps in washington and urge them to pass a law banning black thursday/fridays before more people loose their lives or are seriously hurt. We must all give up some liberties for the good of the many, to keep our people safe.

NO, we must not give up some of our liberties to keep people safe. What else would you like to ban; maybe alcohol sales, no gatherings of more than 50 people for football, baseball, basketball and soccer games, set the national speed limit at 30MPH, etc.

The people involved in these events are adults and should act like adults. We damn sure don't need anymore regulation in this Country. I am not willing to give up any of my rights to keep people who act like idiots safe.

Oh come on, people love to try and take away others rights in this country, hire a Democrat, loose a right. It's the American way, especially if you are a welfare baby.

They would simply lose their minds like when there is not enough mayonnaise on their Whopper which they very rudely ordered while going thru a drive thru at KFC.

I know exactly what I just typed.

"Fo yo own safey!!! Please stan back!!!"

Exactly the types of places I would NEVER shop at. People who perpetuate racist stereotypes should not be allowed to leave their rented and or HUD subsidized homes.

Kevin O, you have just perpetuated every bloody stereotype there is. Perhaps removing yourself from this planet will be your only choice to keep yourself from such undesirables. Do it. Do it soon.
