Arrest made in Georgia girl's killing

[Updated at 2:59 p.m. ET] Information from the public led to the arrest of a suspect in the sexual assault and slaying of a 7-year-old Georgia girl, police said Wednesday.

Authorities said Brian Brunn, an employee of the apartment complex where victim Jorelys Rivera lived in Canton, Georgia, was arrested Wednesday.

Rivera's body was found earlier this week in a trash bin outside the apartment complex, three days after she was reported missing. Authorities have said that she died of blunt force trauma to the head, was stabbed and had been sexually assaulted.

"(Brunn) was well known in the apartment complex because he was employed there," said Vernon Keenan, head of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. "This investigation will continue on for several months. This is mammoth case. We believe that this horrendous crime was planned and calculated."

    I have a solution for these pigs..don't put them in jail, CASTRATE THEM. They are monsters that prey on our children. They don't need to sit in jail on death row for 20 years waiting execution. Maybe if they were CASTRATED IMMEDIATELY after their found guilty, others might think twice. I would gladly do it!

    I hope whoever did this gets tortured in the worst way in prison each day for the rest of their lives. Death would be too kind. I will never understand how a human could do this to a child.

    I dont know why such people should even be allowed to live. I know its wrong of me to think this way...but as a woman when you begin to think of what that little girl may have gone through.....It breaks my heart. I pray for peace and comfort to the parents and family,that her soul may rest in peace, and above all justice to served!!!

    When he is convicted, don't put him in the special segregation; put him in the general population where the inmates treat those types of offenders *very* special...

    Suspect arrested: Ryan Brunn, (Not sure of spelling) 12309 River Ridge Drive Canton GA. He is a maintenance worker at the apartment complex.
