GOP critic threatens impeachment over 'Fast and Furious'

A top GOP critic of President Barack Obama's Justice Department cranked up the political heat Thursday on Attorney General Eric Holder, threatening possible impeachment over the handling of Operation Fast and Furious, a severely flawed and now discredited federal gun-sting plan.

"Heads should roll," Wisconsin Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner told Holder during an appearance by the attorney general before the Republican-controlled House Judiciary Committee.

"There is really no responsibility within the Justice Department. The thing is, if we don't get to the bottom of this - and that requires your assistance on that - there is only one alternative that Congress has and it is called impeachment."

Sensenbrenner did not make clear if he was referring to the possible impeachment of Holder or other top Justice Department officials.

You have to hold people accountable for their actions.
What I don’t understand is why people within the ATF that are under investigation for this are getting promoted.

Why isn't CNN covering the 2012 Defense bill threat to our basic civil liberties? Today Pres. Obama argued for protecting consumers rights. Does anyone think they're more important than the potential abuses of our military having a free hand to lockup citizens?

Eric Holder should be arrested for his crimes against American Citizens by giving thousands of assault rifles to the cartels. Obama should be Impeached for his acts of treason and cover-up of "Fast and Furious."

Impeachment is a word used by Congress to remove from a power a corrupt administrator – Arrest Holder, Impeach Obama.

I for one dont give a darn about the atf. They have been responsible for numerous actions detween cartels over the years. Do the people really think that all of the fire arms taken away from people here in the us actually make it to the shreder? This country does not have the resources to supply there own weapons. Most of the weapons ended up across the boarder that had been used in the us for illegal means. Than something else, if they replace these old weapons that law , and the military personal have used do you think they would be destroyed to?

It sounds as if we might have an illegal weapons entrepreneuer on our hands . In know one thing for sure and that is this, my brother in law is lapd california, i would not any of these weapons taking his life. Some of these weapons will and have made it back to the us multiple times! And our government has to play war games with its own citzens, our future is scary. But if we want to bare arms its wrong, but the us can smugle guns to mexico so two wrongs make it right?

Bull. There are so many arms manufacturing companies worldwide that the Mexican banditos could and do buy, all this crap about 'Fast and furious ' is nothing but political name calling. Granted, the operation was a fiasco from day one and some political appointees should be axed. But it's time to put this baby to bed.

Bush's own ATF director has stated that these types of gun trafficking operations were "fairly routine" and didn't require approval or notification from the Department of Justice.

But don't let that stop the partisan GOP lynch mob– including Congressmen who have opposed bills that would make gun trafficking illegal (that's right, there are no laws against gun trafficking; it is perfectly LEGAL today) - from trying to manufacture a scandal in an election year and hoping that the media doesn't call them on it.

Wrong Michael – Obama ordered "Fast and Furious" and told Mrs. James Brady that his administration was working on something big "under the radar." Giving cartels thousands of assault rifles to kill Americans was an orchestrated act of treason to take away 2nd Amendment Rights of citizens – ARREST HOLDER, IMPEACH OBAMA.
