Tebow tops 'most desirable celebrity neighbor' list

NFL insiders and fans don’t think enough of Tim Tebow to put him in the Pro Bowl, but a decent portion of the American public might be OK with him barbecuing next door.

The Denver Broncos quarterback, who has made a name for himself in part through his outspoken faith in God and a number of comeback wins this season, is the most desirable celebrity neighbor for 2012, according to a survey from the Zillow real estate information company.

The annual survey asks more than 1,000 U.S. adults which celebrity or celebrity couple they’d most like to be their neighbor next year. It should be noted that respondents were given only seven from which to choose, plus “other.” But Tebow topped that list, garnering 11% of the vote.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (10%) were runners-up, followed by Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux (9%). A plurality of respondents - 42% - said “none of the above,” and “other” got 11%.

The survey results were released Wednesday, a day after USA Today announced that Tebow was the United States’ 11th most-admired man for 2011 - two spots behind Bill Gates but ahead of the Dalai Lama - in a USA Today/Gallup Poll.

Tebow began the season on the sidelines but became Denver’s starting quarterback after the Broncos’ 1-4 start. Tebow has won seven of his 10 starts, helping put Denver in position to clinch a playoff spot heading into the final regular-season game this weekend.

His victories - many of them featuring come-from-behind heroics in the fourth quarter - have come despite relatively low passing yardages. He has delighted many Broncos fans, those who cheered him at the University of Florida and many others inspired by his success. But he has also spurred debate on sports talk shows and elsewhere about how good of a passing quarterback he is, how much credit he can claim and how much success he will be have over his career.

Tebow’s victories had some wondering whether fans, coaches and players would select him for the NFL’s Pro Bowl, but the league announced this week that the three signal-callers representing Tebow’s conference would be New England’s Tom Brady, Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger and San Diego’s Phillip Rivers.

The Denver Post has reported that Tebow finished fifth in voting, meaning he is the second alternate.

As for the other celebrities who were on Zillow’s list for the neighbor survey, they were Jennifer Lopez; Beyonce and Jay-Z; Nancy Grace; and Kim Kardashian. For the list, Zillow chose celebrities that made headlines throughout the year, spokeswoman Lauren Riefflin said.

Actress Sandra Bullock was last year’s most desirable celebrity neighbor.

What a crap survey. 53% (other and none of the above) don't want to live next to him. And only including 7 selections to pick from, including Brad Pitt/Aniston (no thanks), and Justin Theroux (never heard of the guy). Makes me wonder what angle the group that put this together is playing.

This is the worst 'crap' in recent years...a person who calls Jesus on a sports field in a 'secular' country should be banned from any sports. Sports is human endeavour irrespective of religion...hope spme of the media idiots start having the right perspective about this guy....

It appears the author didn't bother reading their own story. "None of the above" topped the most desirable celebrity neighbor list. 42% as opposed to his 11%, which was within the sampling error margin for the entire field of celebrity options.

I was about to say? Why would a Khardashian be a desirable neighbor?

Wish this guy would just go do something to ruin his image so that the media would stop putting him up on a pedestal. There's only 1 person us Christian's should be putting up on a pedestal like this...David Hasselhoff!

Hes like a stepford football player..almost robotic the way every breath is controlled by the big invisible guy in the sky. I applaud your belief..not the display you put on. To be that controlled, suggest underlying problems.

The fans got Tebow to 3rd in Pro Bowl voting–it was coaches and players voting that got him moved down to 5th. Hopefully he'll still play (unless he's playing at the Superbowl of course), but if he doesn't it's the Pro Bowl that'll suffer in loss of viewers. It'll be just another boring run-of-the-mill football game without Tebow.

LMAO! So I see others did see that a majority of those surveyed actually don't want Tebow as their neighbor – but also, in case anybody else is wondering, this Zillow Real Estate company just happens to be located in Denver!

It Is Tebow’s sanctimonious, holier than thou bull crap that bothers most of us. If he wants to pray to his God, fine…but does he really need to strike the pose and “Tebow”? He is a great athlete but I seriously doubt that God had a plan to make him great because he prays. How would we explain OJ Simpson or Michael Vick?

The funny thing is how the media gave so much attention to the "Tebowing," but multiple players have done a kneel down with head bowed, or kneel down with the sign of the cross for decades.

Christians should be offended by the media covering Tebow like he is the son of God. And what a waist of time CNN, way to go, what other stupid survey can you come up with? How about which celebrity I would like to have mow my lawn the most?

Tim would be a GREAT neighbor. That means 1/2 the year he would be in Denver, as I would, and the other half in Florida. That is almost the best of both worlds. No wild parties to worry about, no shortage of great looking women walking by my house, he would inspire me to stay in get and stay in shape, someone to play a game of toss just about anytime and give me an opportunity to attend Bronco games even if I have to chaueffer him to the game. SWEET! Besides I like the guy because he is real and knows how to have good clean fun. My kinda guy.

When the media finally turns on Tebow and destroy him, like they do all the celebrities they work so hard to glorify, it's going to be amazing! The higher he rises, the lower he will eventually fall, not as a matter of science but because that is how the parasites in the media operate. Praise -> Glorify -> Destroy.
