(CNN) - A landlord wants the Ohio Civil Rights Commission on Thursday to reconsider its finding that she violated the law by posting a "white only" sign at her swimming pool.
Jamie Hein has asked the commission to reverse its initial ruling that found she violated the Ohio Civil Rights Act by putting up a sign that read "Public Swimming Pool, White Only" at her Cincinnati duplex.
The commission, meeting this week in Columbus, concluded last year that the sign "restricts the social contact between Caucasians and African Americans as well as reinforcing discrimination actions that are aimed at oppressing all 'people of color.'"
The case was brought by Michael Gunn, a white man who said had unrestricted access to the pool area for himself and his guests during the nearly two years he lived in the duplex, he said in a December interview.

If you have a religion that says the color of your skin means you're better than other people, then feel free to discriminate any way you like. Kill, maim, torture, or just put up signs. It doesn't matter now. All you need is a religious excuse.
Join my religion! It is the Only True Religion! All the others are fake as has been proven time and again!
Ignore any law you want! No human law matters now in America because we are now a Pluralistic Theocracy!
All that matters is your free religious expression!
That includes killing people you don't like as long as your religion agrees with you – and it usually does, right?
Only Truth is True! Everything else is not True! Human laws are Not True Laws like Physics!
Feel Free! Be Free! Act Free! This is First Holy Day of the One True Religion! Celebrate and ignore your choice of laws!
What an idiot. If it is private property, do what you want. BUT don't call it a public pool. As soon as it is a public pool, it is open to the PUBLIC. So, make up your mind, you racist idiot. Private white use, or public for EVERYONE.
I'm addressing the landlord, not any of the posters here. None of you are idiots. Really.
The sign said:"Public Swimming Pool, Whites Only!" Obviously we're not talking about this womans private pool! If she was worried about hair care products, which whites also use in abundance, why not word the sign in that manner, "Swim Caps Needed" or something equally non-discriminatory! I'm guessing this is about her tenants bi-racial niece & her own prejudice! Unbelievable in the 21'st Century & if the court reverses itself, it will be an abomination!!

Racsim is the only tool racists white people have to get attention u people have bored us long enough
I honestly believe that the 4:00 PM post by "Seriously" was written by an inexperienced troll who was pretending that he did not understand grammar well.
The phrase "racists white people" is too awkwardly contrived to be taken "Seriously," and it is a long jump from "racism" to "racsim" without the assistance of dyslexia.
This is what happens when some people have money. They think they can do as they please regardless of the law. The fact that Jamie Hein is fighting to keep the sign up is a confirmation that Jamie is a racist. Jamie Hein comes up with this lame excuse about the girl's hair having chemicals in it to keep the sign up . I bet she'll make living at her complex a nightmare for minorities after she loses the case.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have yet another troll feigning failure to comprehend a situation.
Yes, we do have a troll.
Name of said troll? "Joey Isotta-Franchini C/TM"
TM=troll-made?
Who trademarks his own insignificant name?
Oh, yes, I know: a troll!
property rights and private associations are not a joker's card to discriminate...that veil has been penatrated.
It's amazing how few people have very basic legal knowledge. Private property or not, housing discrimination is against the law. The landlord put up the sign just after the tenant had his biracial daughter over to the complex. This is discrimination, cut-and-dry.
I collect vintage pop art, signs similar to the one she had, but I would never put one in a place where people outside of my home could see them. I know how uneasy, at first, it is for visitors to my home to see the signs. They always want to know why I collect this memorabilia. As a black woman, I collect the signs/ads so that I remember the obstacles of my ancestors and the responsibility I have to further their successes.
And just for clarity... Biracial women do NOT typically use the same hair products that black women do. I have a biracial sister and a biracial daughter, both with fine hair, a totally different texture from my own. They would look like "greasers" if the same hair oils and gels were used. My daughter and I don't even use the same conditioner. There you have it.
And people say there are no racist people anymore.
Racism will continue to exists as long as people of a certain color continue to act like animals. Ever been to Detroit?
since the person he was trying to keep out of the pool is half-black, then she can technically get halfway in?
Ever been to a pool where there were a bunch of blks? They're really loud and have no respect for other people. It's not their color, it's how they are raised.
M is just not educated. I mean come on... calling black folks in Detroit animals ?
