Shock, outrage over Marine urination video

Officials in the United States and Afghanistan expressed shock and outrage Thursday regarding a video purporting to show a U.S. Marine sniper team urinating on dead bodies, possibly in Afghanistan.

"I have seen the footage, and I find the behavior depicted in it utterly deplorable," Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said in a statement. "I condemn it in the strongest possible terms."

Panetta said he has ordered the Marine Corps and International Security Assistance Force Commander Gen. John Allen "to immediately and fully investigate the incident."

Contrary to what many believe, being at war does *not* excuse all acts; those who forget history will be doomed to repeat it. If this were American soldiers that were dead, and it were Afghans standing over our dead giving them that kind of disrespect, the outrage would be immeasurable.
Please check yourselves; for if you condone this behavior, you are barbaric.
War is not civilized, I know; but this goes beyond the pale.

I agree 100% with you. IMO the problem is that we are still there. I'm not making excuses but jeez...even Rome walking thru Europe had the job done in a couple of years. The powers that be want us there, just like they always have.

I am shocked.....shocked......Where it's Ok to blow a man's head off, bomb a person into unrecognized body parts, or cut his throat it's outrageous to P** (or at least pretend to) on their dead bodies. War is the act of killing or being killed. War is being able to hurt!, maim or kill someone you have never laid eyes on before. Those desk jockeys who find fault with this show of contempt should spend a few weeks under fire!

For years we have watched our soldiers being cut up, draged through the streets stripped of their clothing, be-headed, ect! Now our main stream media, who has never given a voice to Americans or showed much discuss over these acts of violence, cry's outrage against American Soldiers who finally urinate on some terrorists who may have killed many innocent men, women, and children in acts of violence, our media brings massive attention to those poor terrorists who are now so innocent, and condems American Soldiers for some really simple act of relieving themselves, "It just happens a few terrorists" were in the way when they had to go! Next time, maybe the terrorists should not get in the way! Now our media calls for imprisonment for American Soldiers who have to relieve themselves! I would love to see that court case! Which one of you would want to judge those Marines? Might be those who judge these marines to harshly, will be the next one urinated on! Get real!

If those Marines were just expressing their religious views, then they did nothing wrong at all.

You can do anything if you are expressing your religion. The Supreme Court said so.

Feel Free to ignore any and all laws that you want according to your religion now.

My religion says I need to pee. I will do it freely as an expression of my religious beliefs.

Those Marines needed to pee, too.
They are expressing themselves as guaranteed by the laws they are free to ignore anyway, so who cares?
They have done nothing wrong. They are expressing something with pee. Pee is speech. Money is speech.
Would they get into trouble for tossing money on the dead guys? No. But if they pee it is somehow bad.

Pee is OKAY! It is a form of expression! We are free to ignore any laws now!
Just be a member of a religion and you get a free ticket! This is a Pluralistic Theocracy now! Time to wake up and pee!
