Gotta Watch: So you think you can sing?

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler is a singer, although some might dispute that label, given his performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Sunday's Patriots-Ravens game. In the last few days, we've heard from a few famous folks who do not have "singer" on their resume, yet they thought enough of themselves to give it a go. Today's Gotta Watch: So you think you can sing?

Amateur night at the Apollo - The White House liked President Obama's recent musical homage to the Rev. Al Green so much, they've made it into a ringtone. [cnn-video url="http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/politics/2012/01/20/tsr-bts-obama-sings-at-apollo.cnn"%5D

Buffett the entertainer - At first glance, the curiosity factor is pretty high on this one: Warren Buffett, strumming a ukulele, singing "I've Been Working on the Railroad" on state-run Chinese television. The video of his contribution to a Chinese New Year variety show was posted on CCTV's Spring Festival Gala website. [cnn-video url="http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2012/01/23/sot-china-warren-buffet-singing.cctv"%5D

Herman Cain believes in himself - Former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain has sung before the National Press Club. He's even delivered an odd ode to pizza, which was an Internet favorite. Friday, the sometime gospel vocalist was at it again, belting out a bit of Diana Ross' "Believe in Yourself" at a South Carolina rally with Stephen Colbert. Although I would rather have (again) obama as president because none of the other clowns cut it even for the circus, I am still worried...You see, there are way too many people who are perpetually (and by choice) stupid who would even vote and ...select someone like newt ...the No 1 moral compass in the world. These same people who scream about christian values, family, and honesty are the guys who voted for newt in SC....if this is not the defition of crazy, I don't know what is...

  2. The Prince of Common Sense

For the author of this column piece to make the statement, "President Obama may not hold office after the upcoming election, but he sure can hold a tune" not only shows his/her's ignorance but instantly makes me want the election to happen much sooner so that we Obama supporters can finally shut these critics UP!

What makes you think that this President won't win this next election against whoever wins the Republican nomination?!? All of them are clowns, in my opinion. Just pick one: Romney? Gingrich? Paul? Santorum? Palin? Christie?

    Please spare me...

Guess when that cowboy president, Reagan lunched his crazy assault in the 70's to root out so-called Welfare Cheats or Queens as GOP propaganda, guess whom they caught?
A Jewish multi-millionaire, Jew who owns two Park Ave. Hotels in NYC and a single Latino woman in NJ. The GOP Welfare propaganda against Blacks in America is a pure delusional myth ............ period! All they're doing is to steer up their usual pork race-hate pot. These are the Stats of American's Welfare by Race and skin color for all who wishes to know the truth. US Welfare Stats:-
      Whites: 34%
      Blacks: 22%
      Hispanics: 17%

When does Obama's album come out again? I really enjoyed the music that he made with his voice... I am sure that he can make more music with his voice, and it might even be better if he had other people joining him, who are also making music with their voices, and possibly even making music with other instruments such as drums, guitars, and bass guitar. Maybe even someone making music with their lips like on the trombone or saxophone. Hopefully the album will come out soon. So it can be purchased on the interwebs.

  11. A Prelude to the 2012 Election

During the first Republican Presidential debate, Mitt Romney said aggressively that President Obama's stimulus bill hasn't created one single American job. Well Mitt, you're right! The stimulus bill has created not "one" but rather quarter of a million American jobs in our Auto industry alone. Hahahahaha! Then he said if he was President, he would have taken a different approach in going after OBL. Duhhhh! And perhaps OBL would still be alive today and threatening to destroy America.

Then News Gingrich said Obama is more likeable than he is but he went on to say the Presidency isn't about likeability but about the ability to do the job. Newt you lie! If our President is liked then its becase he's the best person for the job. Then Newt labeled President Obama "the foodstamp President." But you know, New is actually right on this one because if you were to google "The Stimulus Plan: How to Spend $787 Billion – The New York Times" you would discover that the stimulus bill called for billions of dollars in extended unemployment benefits to helped unemployed and struggling Americans stay afloat of the economic crisis the GOP created. God bless you President Obama!

O' and then there's Rick Santurum who criticized this administrations sanctions on Iran, stating that if he was President he would have bombed Iran's nuclear facility. But doesn't Rick know he wouldn't have gotten UN approval to do so until all alternatives to a peaceful resolution are exhausted?

    Obama/Biden 2012!

You think that was great wait till you hear Obama belt out "I'm still in love with you", problem is that it is only reserved for goldman sachs, bp, william ayers, and rev wright, not the American people.

As for Goldman sachs and BP, If you do not like those companies, don't buy anything from them. I am sure that there are American alternatives that would love your business. As for William Ayers and Rev. Wright, they are American people. It takes all kinds of people to make America what it is.

@Doug-what-huh-none of your blog makes sense. Sachs went belly up over the deregulaton of banks by Gingrich and Bush. BP was an accident which President Obama fined and they are still cleaning up and running ads to bring back tourist. And they are in court finding who is at fault still, Your darling Cheneys haliburton, or BP. So your point is?

C'mon....Obama did good. You may hate democrats, black people, or just the president, but does that mean you have hate on everything he does? Him holding a note has nothing to do with disagreeing with his policies. What's next? The way he walks or talks, or simply smiles. I hope that you are not one of those people who shed a tear every time any mention of our president comes to light. If you are, that is why we have security.
