Gotta Watch: Oops! School signs spelled wrong

Students who struggle with their spelling lessons may have trouble finding positive reinforcement from some school signs we found spelled incorrectly. Check out these signs that spell trouble:

"SHCOOL X-NG" sign lacking "street smarts" РSince July of last year students at Marta Valle High School on New York City's Lower East Side have had to view a painted street sign outside of their school that was spelled wrong.

"People older than us always tell us to make sure we spell stuff right and this sign is wrong right in front of us," said Tanaysha Ebron, a senior at the school.

The sign, spelled "SHCOOL X-NG" on Stanton Street was corrected Tuesday.

"PUBIC schools" sign removed РA billboard meant to tout South Bend, Indiana, schools was removed after it caused a big stir in 2010. The billboard encouraged local residents to check out the "15 best things about our PUBIC schools." The sign was supposed to say "public" but the letter "l" was accidentally left out. Affiliate WSBT reported the company that created the billboard advertisement said the ad was proofread by four people and the typo was missed by all of them.

Too cool for "SCOHOL" РA "SCOHOL" zone sign in Lauderhill, Florida, attracted a lot of unwanted attention last year near Banyan Elementary School. Lauderhill resident Keith Mahl jokingly told affiliate WSVN the crew that made the mistake should be "sent back to third grade and given an 'F' for spelling." The company responsible for the error told WSVN the letters "h" and "o" are on the same stencil and they accidentally painted the letters with the stencil upside down.

And.... You just showed your disrespectful to people you dont know about in different countries. Whats more stupid? The simple mispelling or judging everyone in a country as a whole with probably the only other knowlege of America being stereotypes? People like yourself turn out to be horrible people, one example being, Hitler. So I suggest get a proper knowlege of what your making fun of beforejudging everything, including all the people.

Really glad the professional journalists at CNN found this hard hitting story important enough to put on the front page of their website.

Why did they cut out the section of road to correct the spelling? They could have saved a few grand had they simply ground of paint and repainted it.

Too funny. "Wrong" is an adjective being used to modify a verb. The title should read "School signs spelled incorrectly."
