U.S. special forces swooped into Somalia in a pair of helicopters in a daring overnight raid to rescue two kidnapped aid workers - an American and a Dane - and killed several gunmen, American officials said Wednesday.
The hostages, Jessica Buchanan and Poul Thisted, were seized in October after they visited humanitarian projects in northern Somalia, said the Danish Refugee Council, the agency for which they worked.
Both are unharmed, the aid group said.
They were taken to a regional medical facility and receiving care from U.S. military doctors and nurses, Pentagon spokesman George Little said.
US Special Forces ROCK !! There is no better qualified team on the entire globe than the US Navy SEAL Team !!
I'm sorry to sound so selfish. Why would you want to help such a place like Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan, Eritrea, (Muslim countries)? I'm sure there are plenty of Muslims in USA, Canada, or Europe, they can help these Muslim people. They never ever like others. People, if you want to help poor people....go to places like Cambodia, Burma, Laos, central/South America, or Southern Europe. They need your helps, and they will appreciate you.
You're right: you do sound selfish. They were aid workers, doltus.
Ill tell you there is nobody as badass as those navi seals ,they are fearless and them boys get the job done.
Great job done, Seals. Though they don't have to, they prove themselves time and again and make us proud. Kudos.
It's hard for a Marine to say this , but "Damn Good Job Navy !".
Once again, great job U.S. special forces. The Navy SEALs are so awesome!
This is great for us. Our own army will execute a mission to save fewer people than fingers on your hand. Great Job Heroes.
Here is the problem. How many times can we sneak into another territory and execute these aggressive Special Op missions? We have done this twice in less than a year. What are all these other countries in the world going to do? Sit back and let us do whatever we want whenever we have "probable intelligence" about something in their territory? If we do it to other countries, shouldn't these other countries be aloud to do it to America? With the capturing of citizens or terrorists available to the government, wouldn't other countries attempt rescue missions on their own?
Sorry to say, but II see nothing but bad coming from these types of missions. It is so....Cartel style...
Job will done, seals save some lives again .
There are no words we know that could say how proud we are of all of you, in any branch of the service.
