Kepler team confirms 26 more planets
Scientists' list of verified planets is now more than two dozen planets longer, thanks to NASA's Kepler space telescope team.
The Kepler mission has discovered 11 new planetary systems with 26 verified planets in the Cygnus and Lyra constellations, NASA said Thursday.
This nearly triples the number of verified multiple-planet stars that the Kepler mission has discovered, now standing at 17. And it nearly doubles the number of verified planets it has discovered, which now is 61.
Before the Kepler satellite was launched in 2009, scientists knew about perhaps 500 planets outside our solar system "across the whole sky," said Doug Hudgins, Kepler program scientist at NASA.
"Now, in just two years staring at a patch of sky not much bigger than your fist, Kepler has discovered more than 60 planets and more than 2,300 planet candidates," Hudgins said in a news release. "This tells us that our galaxy is positively loaded with planets of all sizes and orbits."

US war strategists called them "foo fighters", and actually had to develop ways of dealing with them. Youcan Youtube 'nazi flying saucers' and see literally hours and hours of video documentaries showing this all to be be true. Several even show Hitler himself inspecting flying saucers. Even the facilities where they were manufactured were dismantled and brought back, then reconstructed at various underground facilities built during the Cold War. Youtube 'nazi flying saucers' and watch a few of the shorter videos just so you can see actual film footage of nazi flying saucers flying around in Germany before and during WWII. The only people who believe flying saucers are alien, are the ones who want to believe it. In 2009, several classified 1WII documents were declassified. Among the documents are hundreds that prove how huge this program was. For exapmple, there are several documents from Cheloslovakia after that country was invaded and occupied. The Nazis converted Chekoslovakia's Skoda automobole plant and converted it to build saucers. There are actual bills of lading (legal documents for shipping) showing flying saucers being shipped. One shows a trainload with 237 Skoda flying saucers being shipped via railcar. This really is all true. Why don't you all spend a few minutes at least and check it out?
You couldn't even trust your next-door neighbor in Nazi Germany. After the Third Reich took control of Germany, German citizens began installing deadbolts on their doors because they could no longer trust one another. The Waffen SS depended mostly on neighbors complaining about each other to make their arrests. Could you imagine that? Needing a dead bolt on your door and worrying about your neighbors informing on you? That must have been horrible.
All the Germans had to do was take some Bayer Aspirin and get in one of their flying saucers. All of those missing children? You really think they are missing?
