Occupy activists march in Oakland, plan to take over building

Scores of Occupy protesters marched through the streets of Oakland, California, on Saturday afternoon, planning to take over a building that will serve as their new home base.

Aerial video showed the activists proceeding through the city's streets, many of them toting signs while others carried what appeared to be supplies.

While touting the action as "Move-In Day" on their website, occupyoaklandmoveinday.org, organizers have not stated what vacant building they plan to occupy. They also acknowledged that "like the encampment at Oscar Grant Plaza, the building move-in is not legal."

But the group said the move was necessary, in part because "since November, the city of Oakland and its police force have made it impossible for us to meet, to serve food, and to provide a place for people to stay."

    one big problem is that these college professors indoctrinate their students with socialist ideals in the name of fairness.sure its fair that everyone drives the same lemon wears the same clothes eats the same food and has the same amount of toilet paper to use.but it will be a miserable life when that lemon is broken food is being thrown out while others starve and not being able to wipe ur butt while others use their toilet paper to decorate your house.i suggest everyone read 1984 because thats exactly what ows wishes for.

    Why are these discussions weighted so heavily to personality factors?
    Can't we all just get to the issues?
    It is disconcerting to offer and opinion on an issue, back it up with my personal experience regarding that issue, and then be told that by a person who cannot spell with a computer spelling program that I am an arrogant capitalist oppressor who is responsible for all of that blogger's problems because I am an old white man who goes to work almost every day.

      They have been indoctrinated to hate white men. They cannot help it as they are useful idiots is all. No one takes them seriously neither should you. It could be worse. They could call you a young black man but you probably hold a job and neve went to prison. Don't worry what the poop stains say. They are an inferior sort.

    it is becoming obvious, that the media is trying to underreport Occupy Movements. Very little on local TV. They report on Syria , Middle East , Egypt. I have news for you in the media. You are not going to stop the movement -it will grow and people in Oakland like the Major and her hanchmen will be fired-just a matter of time. The unions and other people are going to join the movement and demand representation and a return to a free press or bloodshed will start and you guys in the media will have no place to run to.
