Connecticut police chief to quit amid racial profiling probe

East Haven, Connecticut, Police Chief Leonard Gallo will retire following the arrests of four police officers for their alleged role in the mistreatment of Latinos, city officials said Monday.

The arrests stemmed from a federal investigation into racial profiling in the town.

    I think this case involves discriminatory law enforcement, but I am quite certain that it does not involve racial profiling, because there is no Latino race. Latinos may be white, black, brown or other shades of color. Get it right. Latinos are an ethno-linguistic group, not a race,

      Semantics.
      Racial profiling is the generally accepted term for what these officers are accused of.
      Are you seriously trying to tell me that you didn't know what the article was going to be about when you clicked it on?
      You are correct the Latinos are an ethnicity, but for the sake of people understanding the general tone of the article, ethnic profiling would just cause people to scratch their heads and say "huh?"
