Occupy DC camps remain as deadline passes

Defiant but festive, Occupy DC protesters hunkered down early Tuesday as a deadline passed for U.S. Park Police to begin enforcing a ban on camping in two Washington parks.

"We're just having a great party," said Occupy DC representative Sara Shaw. "We've camped since October so it's a lot like any other night. We're all staying awake and looking out for each other."

Until now, Occupy protesters have been allowed to remain under a Park Service interpretation that considered the activity a "24-hour vigil."

But on Friday, the National Park Service set a noon Monday deadline for protesters who have occupied the parks for months to remove their camping gear.

TY, Chrissy, Now if everyone would lay off OWS and see them of Paul Revere's of our time, only it is not the brittish coming, it's our government greedy, buying our representatives, lobbying our servants of America to do what is best for the greedy wealthy and not the middle class worker. Ask your senate and congress representatives if they support the new issuance of Steaglal Glass, if not, send them on their way, we the people will "not" vote for ones that bring us down as a country.
@Philip-where are you? You can explain this much better than I can.

@Chrissy- they would be so mad because he could not be bought. There is more to life than money. It is about time for OWS to get in some written demands like: A government audit. I know on the ows site they have a whole bunch of demands I just wonder why cnn has not had them on. I know Keith Obermann has.
