8:00 am ET - National Prayer Breakfast - President Obama will make remarks at the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.

9:30 am ET - Holder on the hot seat - The controversial "Operation Fast and Furious" sting operation comes to a head on Capitol Hill, with Attorney General Eric Holder testifying on the matter before the House Oversight Committee.

10:00 am ET - State of the U.S. economy hearing - Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke testifies before the House Budget Committee on the U.S. economy.

10:30 am ET - Pentagon briefing on Afghanistan - With the U.S. planning to wind down military action in Afghanistan next year, the Pentagon will hold a briefing with reporters on the current situation in the country.

3:30pm ET - America's Choice 2012: Trump announcement - Real estate mogul Donald Trump has tried to play an important role in the Republican presidential race for some time now.  This afternoon, he's expected to make a "major" announcement regarding the race.  What will it be?
