Fans, celebrities react to Whitney Houston's death: 'We will always love you'

Legendary pop singer Whitney Houston has died at age 48, representative Kristen Foster said Saturday night.

The cause of death and where she died were not immediately known. In May 2011, Houston got help for her much-publicized struggle with drugs and alcohol, her representative said at the time.

According to her official website, Houston, who struggled with addiction problems over the years, sold more than 170 million albums, singles and videos over her career.

As news of her death spread online her fans and celebrities tweeted that they were absolutely shocked and saddened at the news.

  1. Psalm 31

" In You, O Lord, I put my trust, Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness. Bow down your ear to me, Deliver me speedily; Be my rock of refuge, A fortress of defense to save me. For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name's sake, Lead me and guide me. Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, For you are my joy strength. Into Your hand I commit my spirit, You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth....

God may you please have mercy on us all!!! Father please forgive those who persecute your child, for they know not what they do!!! Let us stand in pray for the family at this time. Peace

Very unfortunate. She had an amazing voice and talent. Unfortunately like so many other singers and actors/ actresses their personal tragedies become their undoing. With Witney it was cocaine and alcohol.
    Very very very sad day....

  10. Matthew 7

"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, Let me remove the speck from your eye; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite!

God is the judge over all things; Whitney had a cross to bare. Trust and believe we all do. To criticize is easy, to be correct is something totally different. I say Whitney's troubles are over, rest in God (RIG)

I remember the first time I heard Whitney singing on TV, I really wasn't listening much, then this unbelieveable voice came on, and I stopped and looked to see who was singing, there was this beautiful little angel singing a simple song called how can I tell if he really loves me. She just floored me, it was incredable, the next song I heard was the unbelieveable The greatest love of all. what an amazing talent, Whitney you will be missed soo much and cherished in our hearts, the world lost an angel at such a young age, we all will miss you little angel
