Fans, celebrities react to Whitney Houston's death: 'We will always love you'

Legendary pop singer Whitney Houston has died at age 48, representative Kristen Foster said Saturday night.

The cause of death and where she died were not immediately known. In May 2011, Houston got help for her much-publicized struggle with drugs and alcohol, her representative said at the time.

According to her official website, Houston, who struggled with addiction problems over the years, sold more than 170 million albums, singles and videos over her career.

As news of her death spread online her fans and celebrities tweeted that they were absolutely shocked and saddened at the news.

Big surprise ! Too bad all the pushers, dealers, family vultures, can just walk away from this. No Dr.Murray to hang this on. Clive Davis now has to build up his next victim, while crying all the way to the bank.

Yes, Whitney, the children are our future. You had a child and she's without her mom right now. How dare you!? As parents(rich or poor)we live for our children. LIVE FOR OUR CHILDREN, WHITNEY! That doesn't mean get hooked on drugs because your husband did them and wanted you to do them with him. As loaded with money as you were, you cold have told him to kick rocks and stay out of your life. With all your money, you could have gone to Promises and dried out and continue to look towards your child and have a long happy life. But you couldn't do that, and chose drugs over life. Screw you, Whitney. People with kids and/or parents of drug addicts aren't going to miss you one bit. You personify personal disapointment.

And don't tell Michael Jackson it's hot where you at; they won't turn down the flames for anyone.

As I am siiting here on your Website Listenig to Whitney sing the National Anthem, I am reminded there are only a handful of Women that have made the same impact on American Music like Whitney. and we should never forget these
Women. Whitney, Barbra Streisand,Judy Garland.Edith Piaf and Amy Winehouse. and soon to be Adele. we should all
remember these Women and their Impact on American Music as we all see it.

God Bless you Whitney and rest in Peace with the Lord

My heart is sadden and my eyes are filled with tears. I can remember back in the 80's when Whitney first came out with her album. I listen to the entire and every song was a complete hit to me. I want to remember the good about her and nothing else matter.
She have fought the good fight and kept the faith. Whitney you are in a much better place now where you don't have to prove anything, God has given her a talent and she did not let it go to waste, the proof is in the awards she had acheived over the years.
    Rest In Peace Whitney.

While she may have been flawed here on earth, she has gone to the God that made her and gave her that voice. Now she will sing for Him and her voice will soar across the ramparts of heavan. Those who have preceeded us there will listen, nod and smile to each other and say... "Whitney's home!"

This is why we didn't want our kids going to school with them, or even having them appear on the TV back then. Blacks.... especially ones like her...are a bad influence. Just think how many ignorant white kids idolized her throughout her career. It's mind-bending, the future implications of that misjudgment...

She had a beautiful voice. But she was addicted to cocaine. Just like Len Bias, cardiac conditions.
