Fans, celebrities react to Whitney Houston's death: 'We will always love you'

Legendary pop singer Whitney Houston has died at age 48, representative Kristen Foster said Saturday night.

The cause of death and where she died were not immediately known. In May 2011, Houston got help for her much-publicized struggle with drugs and alcohol, her representative said at the time.

According to her official website, Houston, who struggled with addiction problems over the years, sold more than 170 million albums, singles and videos over her career.

As news of her death spread online her fans and celebrities tweeted that they were absolutely shocked and saddened at the news.

Ozzy is still here only because God hasn't called for him yet. Let's get past that and realize the depth of this loss. Whitney was at the highest level and should not be treated as anything less. Ozzy is still a great performer but you need to realize that Whitney is gone and this is our time to mourn. One thing we all have to face is that we all have to die. Today was Whitney. Who knows when his will be? I hope it's not for a long time. I grew up with Ozzy too but it's not about him.O-H-I-O, you need to stay out of this one because you look so stupid. Hide behind your computer because that's what you obviously do.

I grew up with her wonderful music. She was many good things, a gracious singer, a mother, a daughter, but no, she was NOT a junkie. She had a short term problem with that issue, as do many celebrities. Speaking for myself, I will miss her dearly. I will not miss her music as I have all of her CD's and listen to her music when I am feeling down. RIP wonderful Whitney. Sincerly, your biggest fan, Jessie.
