Why does someone have to die for Americans to show them love. Why wasn't she so popular 2 days ago. Everyone was criticizing her rather than encouraging her. Now everyone is so broken up and playing her music like it was the 80's again. Shame on you america.

The writing was on the wall. Like so many other people in entertainment, seems genuine concern for that person was not given. Once offical cause of death is made known, can better comment.
Just given her history, more than lkely drugs and alcohol were a factor.
Unfortuante and tragic that "family and friends" were not able to give to her
what she needed. This pattern will continue in the entertainment industry.
Put people at the top, then can't wait to tear them down ...........

Another sad, sad example of the an individual blessed with once-in-a-generation God-given talent and beauty throwing it all away for a crack pipe. What a waste! Whitney, you had it all girl. Was it worth it?

The reason this is such a shock to those of us who grew up w/Whitneys music, is because we could relate to her songs, her life problems & were touched by her aura! She was way to young to die! Hopefully there will be a Soul Train line in heaven, Don Cornelius will host, Whitney will sing & the angels will dance! RIP, We Will Always Love You!!

Whitney had it all....the talent, the looks, the breaks, success, fame, stardom. Isn't that enough???
Why did she throw it all away for a chemical high? Why do we lose so many of our greatest artists to self-destruction? I think it is important for our up and coming young starts to not just admire these mega-stars, but to heed the warnings about the pitfalls and treachery of drugs.

I wonder if anyone down at the coroner’s office will do her dead body. Never know... you might have a Thomas Jefferson descendant working there!

So tired of hearing about her already, long before it started. Why don't we here about our military members that are be killed for our freedom, people that really make a true difference

The moment that CNN announced that lorazepam and xanax were found near Whitney, a red flag should have gone up! These prescription drugs make one crazy, if prescribed for long periods of time, nightly.
Was Zolpidem10 mg also found? If so, that very dangerous sleeping pill (also known as Ambien), causes all of the disturbing behavior sited by others, as demonstrated by Whitney.. Ambien causes horrendous side affects after prolonged use. These include the bizarre behavior that is detrimental to a person trying to stay sober. Hallucinations, confusion, memory loss and other anti-social behavior are all a given when taking these drugs. Ambien is a dangerous drug prescribed for insomnia. If Whitney was given a sleeping pill nightly, as well as pills for anxiety, her demise was inevitable. The doctors prescribe these pills like candy and don't bother monitoring the patient. Whitney couldn't stay sober after being prescribed these dangerous drugs, in combination with her struggle to stay sober .

    God bless
    our Ever- Present Angel, Whitney!

Granted drugs are a terrible addiction and take a very long recovery process. Unfortunately, for Whitney, during this recovery she lost the one thing that made her feel immensely proud and special – The Voice!

I think people should not blame Bobby Brown as one's life is one's own responsibility. I am sad for Whitney's death but maybe we can use it to highlight the fact that drugs affects us all and everyone would be good to say NO to drugs!
