More questions than answers surround sudden death of Whitney Houston

There were more questions than answers Monday about Whitney Houston's sudden death, with authorities offering few details even as the iconic singer's passing loomed large over music's biggest night.

Coroners completed the autopsy Sunday on Houston, who was found dead a day before in her suite in the upscale Beverly Hilton just hours before she was to attend a pre-Grammy Awards bash at the hotel.

Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Coroner's office told reporters "there will be no cause of death at this time because it is pending toxicology reports."

Winter declined to release the coroner's initial finding of cause of death, saying lab results were expected in six to eight weeks.

Poor whitney. So much good talent. I attended two of her concerts. Wonderful lady. Ugly how some criticize her addiction problem. Funny coming from a bunch of food, alchohol, and cigeritte junkies. Shame on you for disrespecting this kind woman .

Six to eight weeks to determine a cause of death ...What's the LA county coroner do?.......let a local high school do the toxicology tests...or call in the Brits who took 90 days to determine that Amy Winehouse died from alcohol poisoning.

It takes that long in most states, Portland Tony.
It's not as if there aren't any other deaths occurring.
Toxicology takes that long because there are a lot of different things that they screen for.

It's obvious from some of the inane remarks, that very few who are commenting know little or nothing about addiction. Whether it be alcohol, Dr. prescribed drugs, or what we call street drugs. Some can sample and walk away...Others, because of their psychological make up... can't ....and wind up on the down elevation to hell. Do you actually think that most addicts want to continue their usage. Not. Think of the cigarette smoker...who have tried to quit 100s of times. Some do. Some don't. While smoking is benign in the short term...it's not really good for the long term. Now imagine a drug that is 1000 times more addictive than nicotine ..that's your 'other' drugs. Some would give anything to quit...but can't. Others try and succeed. Addiction is a disease, some conquer it..others die!

As on can tell from the comments, the majority of people think that being an addict means being weak-willed, or less than, somehow.
You have spoken the truth, but it is doubtful that people will see it that way, preferring to see it as a joke, rather than the serious issue hundreds of thousands of people suffer from.

      RIP, Ms. Houston.
      Your fight is over.

@ banasy, some of society is just to weak mimded to see what a true problem is . Instead look at them selves as being better, and try to justify it by showing ignorance, and un educated remarks , towards those that threaten the ignorant ones so not to be morbid or any thing but those that meet there maker are the winners those that are left behind? They still have to stew in the BS games of life because thats what they make it
