Supreme Court justice robbed at Caribbean vacation home

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer was robbed at by an intruder armed with a machete last week, while vacationing in the Caribbean island of Nevis, where the family own a vacation home, a court spokeswoman said Monday.

His wife and two other guests were in the home at the time, but officials say no one was hurt in the incident.

Thiefs and gov't prefer unarmed citizens, Just like Breyer. He loves gun control, too bad he wasn't armed. Glad it happened to him, get him out of his cozy bubble he has been living in his entire life. Welcome to the real world Breyer. Of course this numb skull thinks if there was more gun control the thiefs woudn't be armed, if a thief had to pick a home to rob where he knew one was armed and the other wasn't, which do you think he would choose.

I'm kind of shocked that the justices do not receive some type of protection when traveling abroad.

Why would they need protection outside the country? Do you really think some yahoo in the Caribbean did this because he's angered by some decision of the United States Supreme Court? Get a grip. If you want them to have protection, are you willing to pay for it?

My wife and I rented a house in Nevis a year ago for vacation and were robbed at gun point. Luckily all we lost was some cash. It's a beautiful island. But the crime will destroy tourism there.

I bet he wishes he had some way to protect himself and his family at the time of the robbery. A gun would have been handy. Oh yeah he is anti gun. He doesn't believe you should have the right to protect yourself when you are in your own home. Well guess what Stephen, the police weren't there to protect you this time. You were faced with a situation where you needed to protect yourself. You got lucky the perp didn't want to hack you to pieces. What would you have done then?
